1) you kill
2) you kill
3) you kill and can even murder women just walking in the streets etc
great help... thats kind of obvious. thats pretty much what u do in all games now a days.
Oblivion was rated T when it first came out, but then the ESRB found out about that 1 DB quest when you see that guy's bloody body hanging inside a small farm building. The rating was then changed to M.limpbizkit818
i thought it was changed to m because of a pc mod that made people nude. is bioshock really that violent. i can play gears. i heard something about sexual themes in bioshock is this true
I don't see why anyone even cares about the E.S.R.B. ratings. The rating system is soo stupid.
Halo 3 had no violence whatsoever....no blood...no cussing and it got a M.
E.S.R.B. ratings are something stupid liberals came up with....probaby just to piss people off, but what are ya going to do?
esrb.com
^search any game and it'll tell u what twisted things are in it.
as for bioshock, it is pretty damn gory (i played the demo) and you kill little girls. Lots of blood too.
R6V has alot of bad language (listen during those missions where u save the hostages) and its of course violent and bloody.
Oblivion is pretty bloody.
Oblivion: pretty bloody and the whole combat hack and slash stuff.
R6V: Havent played
Bioshock: ALOT of bad language, gruesome killings, killing little girls, etc.

Well I doubt the rating was changed to M because of a PC Mod... considering that not only did the PC version's rating change, but so did 360's... Microsoft rep at work told me it was something that was written into the game after I brought up the "hot coffee mod" from GTA... Yes BioShock is really that violent... and the fact that you can choose to harvest little girls (READ AS: KILL THEM) doesn't help it's rating much either... If I recall correctly I believe there was some language stuff too... not 100% sure though. As for sexual themes... there are some of those too... and mentions of alcoholism... and you can drink too... and you're injecting drugs into your body throughout the game... and you kill people... well mutilated, and in some cases horribly disfigured, people. And not to mention pretty much all of the characters are psychotic... and you kill people... so yeah I think that warrants an M rating. Great game though... absolutely great :)
Rainbow Six- realistic violence, language. there's nothing too bad in this game (with the exception of language), it's just that it's done realistically.
Oblivion- T-level violence with some fairly gory blood. one of the mildier M games out there, but still pretty violent.
BioShock- pretty much everything. very strong M.

Yeah, Bioshock is very violent. There is a little sexual reference in Bioshock also, but the great story and intense gameplay can help you look past it. Oblivion was rated Teen to begin with, but Bethesda changed the game, and also enabled modding in the PC version. The ESRB ended up changing the rating because of a higher level of blood, and a nude mod.

Whoa.... Halo 3 had no violence whatsoever? Do you ride the short bus? I believe that the act of killing... whether it's an alien, some disfigured diseased freak, or whatever... killing... murder... is considered a VIOLENT ACT... Dictionary.com bro... check it out. And it does have blood. Just not that noticable.

actually the ESRB was created and is majority endorsed by Clear Channel, a conservative media monitering organization. So its really just the opposite...

No clue, you can look the game up on the ESRB website, or xbox.com and it will tell you why it received that rating... or just look on the back of the package.
The sexual themes in BioShock are pretty few, and a parent probably wouldn't know what the hell was going on in that game anyway unless they were a gamer and had played the game... both of my roommates would look at the TV with half-disgusted faces and say.... dude... what the hell are you playing... that's some f'd up stuff... I love it.
do you guys reccommend getting oblivion? i have morrowind, dont really like it. but i enjoy rpgs. i loved champions: return to arms on ps2

yeah, sexual themes are the least of stuff in bioshock. i honestly can't imagine a mother watching that game and not cringing.
to answer your question about oblivion, it depends. i've encountered very little, but there are so many things to do in that game that i'm sure there's something sexual somewhere. it also has "sexual themes" as one of the descriptors for its rating.

the game was rated t before the pc mod controversy. if there is anything sexual its not m rated its t rated. right?
FOR THE LAST TIME PEOPLE!!! OBLIVION IS ONLY M BECAUSE OF A NUDE MOD THAT YOU CAN PUT ONTO THE GAME!!! I CHECKED! It was Teen before that, so you shouldn't have a problem talking your parents into getting it for you. Just point out that you actually have to go outside of the game to get the mod, something that you personally can't do (even if you can, lying always works). The rest has pretty much been explained already. I have to say though, is the '95 in your username an indicator that you were born in 1995? 'Cause I seriously think that there is something majorly wrong with anyone under the age of 16 playing an M rated game. But I guess that's just me.mauigamer91
the 95 in my name does mean i was born in 95. big whoop. the m rated games i play arent even that bad. the worst one that i own is gears

"sexual themes" was a descriptor for the T rated version too. i have the T version for PC, and here's what it says on the back of the box:
Blood and Gore
Language
Sexual Themes
Use of Alcohol
Violence

No. You don't have to read it (If you don't want to). If you can handle Gears of War, you can handle Oblivion.

There are a few things, though nothing really major.
- There's one sidequest that has three women trying to seduce you in a bar.
- I remember running into one NPC asking about necrophilia
- A book called "The Lusty Argonian Maid"
The sexual themes are really mild, so I doubt it would really be a problem. The game was originally rated T, but seeing some of the stuff in the game, I find it hard to see why it didn't get an M. While the combat is a little bloody, some of the destroyed scenery looks M rated to me. Someone already mentioned the Dark Brotherhood mission, and there are zombies with rotting flesh and internal organs exposed. Exploring Oblivion has plenty of bodies that are roped and lacerated, and the occasional head on a pike. If your parents don't have a problem with violence, then you should get Oblivion. It's a great value and it provides many hours of gameplay, something that single player games have been lacking lately.
