I'm getting it because it looks good.
Boring and repetitive could be said about every single game ever made, so whenever people use that argument as to why they don't like something I shake my head in puzzlement.
So after reading another topic, it seems as if many people think the game looks boring and repetitive, so everyone post why your buying the game to clear some of this up. Im getting it because of the hours on end of gameplay, storyline, and achievements :PTaylor9124
everything you said is why im getting it
Good question, I've often wondered the same thing. To be honest, it doesn't look at all impressive to me. Farcry 2 is my front runner this season. -Aceacecs1989
Far Cry 2 does look awesome, but do yourself a favor and watch this video (link below). It may change your mind on Fallout 3.
Fallout 3 E3 Live Stage Demo
My main reasons for getting it:
Outstanding visuals...did you see the nuclear explosion on the last demo-video? Jaw-dropping.
Large and detailed world to explore.
Different ways to play through. You can rely on sneakyness to the extreme or going in guns blazin and everything in between. Gives it replay value to a degree. Though the missions are the same, how you solve problems changes.
Interesting story and setting.
Hopefully they've also made a game that's fun and challenging enough. I hate it when a game seems right, but when you get to play it...it just does'nt deliver on the fun part.
I've set a side quite a lot of money earmarked to games this fall/winter. Fallout, Gears 2, Fable and Dead space is all on my to-buy list, so either way I'm pretty much set for the winter. I'm not that much of a winter person and I live in colder-than-the-friggin north pole-Norway so I like sitting inside all Sunday playing while the blizzard outside is roaring and freezing my fellow norwegians ears off...
Short answer: I like Oblivion and I like the world of Fallout. Also I just prefer sci-fi to fantasy in general.
TBH I don't see what the haters are talking about. Aside from the change in perspective (first/third person) it seems like pretty much the same game to me. And you can't really show how deep the RPG part of the game is without actually playing it. The leveling system isn't like oblivion so that shouldn't be a problem. There's even the VATS system to they can fight turn based instead of real time.
Honestly I think it will be a great game and it's just getting a bad rep from haters for no good reason.
I'm not that familiar with the Fallout series, but both the setting and story are quite appealing. I'm a sucker for post-apocalyptic settings, anyway. On top of that it's Bethesda, and I'm getting more excited about the game the more I read up on it. I tend to enjoy their large open world games. Save for the leveling system in Oblivion, I've been quite happy with everything of theirs that I've played. (I really wish they would make another Terminator game).
It's about the only game I'm really that excited about this fall, except maybe WOTLK.
I am a huge fan of Bethesda, and i have read everything and anything imaginable about this game. I cannot wait, open world, freedom, features, the story...everything.
