Why did GTAIV get such a high score?

Ok so I bought it with my 360 & played it for 6 hours straight then... I noticed that I'm bored with it. They revamped LC but the formula feels old I thought there was a lot of good stuff here from what I've read but once you go over it they just updated the graphics other than that it's still the same GTA.

Yeah I kinda felt that It feels a lot like GTA III on the PS2. I mean after playing Vice City then San Andreas I thought this was suppossed to be the best GTA of them all but It felt OLD in a lot of ways.

I'm glad someone can see that a review is just another persons opinion. I agree with the reviewer, mainly because I think GTA IV is the best in the series, but I know that's just my opinion.

almost every review for gta4 was fixed. companies will send websites like gamespot things like early prevews and first game footage if they agree to give it a high score.

Honestly it feels like that took a step backwards with the series. No airplanes, a much smaller city, less weapons, ect. roflcoptor1989

It's acutally a much more detailed city because it's so small, compared to the previous GTA games. I think Rockstar accomplished what they set out to do.

I don't think so. I've played most games from the series straight like only having breaks to eat, take a shower & do all other personal stuff. I know it's GTA... but from a series vets point of view this tastes bland.

There is no way you can say the game feels anything like GTA3... Physics? aiming system? Driving? these is no way...

GTA San Andreas is the best of the series.. But that being said thats why ppl are so hard on the game because it is a follow up to one of the top 5 biggest selling games of all time.. THere is no way that GTA4 sucks.. IT is a fantastic game.. Great story, good online features that you will love or hate...

I wish ppl would quit hating on good games now days.. It is a quality game.. Its a 100 million dollar game, the most expensive game in history..

You cant say a game sucks just because you dont like it as much as GTA3, Vice city, San andreas..

I traded it in to gamestop today while it was still worth some money. I dont think it deserved a 10.0 at all. It was fun at points but most of the time it felt boring, sometimes not even challenging. I also didn't finish it. So I dont claime to know everything about it. Online was decent but that got old too. I just think I'm looking forward to the games being announced at E3 more than I looked forward to putting GTA in my 360. When you spend more time watching trailers than playing the games you have its time to pass them on.

agreed cant wait 2 c what demos there gonna put on the marketplace

IF I had it I would only play it for like 2 weeks then get bored of it.... sandbow games are so meh to me nowadays.... that's why Crackdown sparked some interest in me cuz like even though it was sandbox it was.... like... FUN superhero sandbox yah know? GTA 4 is too real for its own good. but that's just me....

imo its the most detailed game ever made. u can also do so much, bowl, pool, qubed, and those are almost like xbla games. the internet is also huge and tv is fun. u can also go everywhere.

u guys can rip on the game for being boring but u gotta admit this game was huge and at least somewhat impressive.

Thank you, I keep hearing that its the greatest game ever. I loved the other games but this one just doesnt work for me at all.

- Camera (on foot and driving) never feels right and makes exploring the city annoying
- Controlling on foot feels slow, he controls like a brick
- Driving controls cant get used to them still.
- City doesn't have much personality
- Radio doesn't have any personality compared to San Andreas or Vice City. Those games had tons of great songs that really created a great expereince.

Playing this today, I gota say this is probably the worst GTA in the series since the ps1 games. Driving Physics are way too floaty makes police chases not very fun. I remember playing the other games and games like Driver on ps1 and police chases were a ton of fun. Here they arent, Cars are always doing 360s, sliding into stuff. I think the physics engine breaks this game. Still cant get over the reviews of this game.

More I play the more I wish it played like San Andreas.

San andreas is the perfect GTA game. I enjoy the visuals better too. Here it feels very generic. Sad to see this game get a 10/10

That's the thing. A score is just an opinion, it's not some definitive number we should all accept and bow down to. If you wrote video game reviews, your score would be lower because your opinion differs.

What does it matter in the end if you hated it and someone else loved it?

A very good game? Yes. 10? No way. I'm sure reviewers have been swayed by advertising clout. It'sno where near perfect with a horrid driving cam (the car turns then a few secs later the cam turns) and some repetetive missions. BUT the shooting is a big improvement on the others.

Gtaiv is the best of the series the reason yall hate is cause ya miss thug life and cartoon graphics.;)
