Why did Microsoft release the 360 if they knew if u accidently tip the system over, it would basically leave that ring of death around ur game(CD/DVD)?

R.I.P. Rainbow six vegas. DAMN YOU MICROSOFT with ur faulty system!!!

Nothing they could do about it, a disk spining that fast just can not be moved. Plus it's easy to solve:

Don't tip your 360 over.

that applies to every system. never ever, under any circumstances, move any console or PC while its on and the disc drive is spinning. if u want to move it or change its orientation then remove the disc and turn it off first. moving the console while its running a game is just asking for trouble. also make sure ure console is in a safe place and prefably have it on its belly...especially if u have pets capable of knocking it over.

Why were you allowed to have a 360 ifthey knew you were capable of tipping a $400 machine over while its running a game? and then whine about it no less.

yea i agree with gnome, i mean what ARE you doing to your system while u play it??? i mean the only time i even touch the system is if i want to change discs or plug in my guitar, and that doesn't happen often. otherwise i just turn it on and off via controller...who knows what the heck you're doing to it

Sure the 360 can be considered a faulty system. Though you tipping over your xbox and ruining your disc does not mean it is faulty.

Wrong, as standard since the god damn 80s drives had protections built in. This is why people in the 90s with Discmans and such were able to like, play music.

then youd notice that Discmans, like laptop drives, require you to mount the disc to the centre that spins the disc. Effectively locking it into place so it cannot slide off etc. Whereas the cd drive in pc/360 etc have the centre rise up, lifting the disc and then spinning. So movement causes the discs position to shift = scratches..

No PCs like most devices also have a clamp which locks the disk in place.

Yeah it's too bad they didn't make a system that allowed you to throw it around while the disk was spinning and not ruin it.

Or have it the other way round, spin the head, keep the disk still ;)

Easy solution: Don't move/tip over your 360 while a disk is in it.
