My brand new xbox...Brand new forza 2. Inserted the game into the console..it was loading up and everything, and then i decided to move the console back a bit.....as i picked the 360 up there was this loud grinding sound. I hit the xbox dashboard button...I then ejected the game and it all deeply scratched. Is there any way of repairing the game..as it then said that it could not be read...Can anyone think of an excuse to blame my console? So i can take the game back to the shop and get it replaced???? I didn't know picking up your 360 while it was playing a game did this......Will it have damaged my 360 at all?

NEVER move a system when it's spinning a disk! But now you know that, don't you?;) That being said, do you have a Game Crazy near you? I had a severly scratched DOA 4 disk and I took it to them, and for $2 they buffed the disk so well that I couldn't even tell it was scratched and it worked perfectly. Look into that. If not then there isn't much you can say to the store, but it never hurts to try and just blame it on your system. They may be nice and just let you swap it.

I guess you learned a lesson today : never move xbox while a game is inside. You should read the xbox manual it clearly stated in page 11 to remove disks when moving the console. People do not read manuals these days.

It's because the 360 drive is missing cushions to stop it from scratching the disc. 99.9% of drives sold on the pc has these, and probably every other console out there too. But not the 360 for whatever reason.

Yep, and that's why on laptop disc drives they have those 3 little bumps to lock the disc in place so it doesen't bounce around. If you just bought it you might be able to take it back with the recipt and just say the disk won't read.
