Because the first xbox had the best FPS and online play. Halo 1 Lan matches and Halo 2 multiplayer made buying a 360 a no brainer for me. Its weird though because i put more time into the first two then the third which I barely play now.
Well, I was thinking about buying a Wii. Then I realised how stupid I was being and bought the 360 instead. It was kind of an impulse buy and I had the money for it so I thought: "why not?". At the time I bought it (Jan 2007) it was the only current gen console worth buying. I wanted Gears of War and Oblivion and to see what online gaming was like. Not my all-time favoutire console, but a damn good one.
I bought a 360 because of Oblivion. Oblivion wasn't announced for PS3 at the time and I knew there was no way my CPU could handle Oblivion. I had to play this game after seeing the screenshots and trailers. Other games like Halo, Mass Effect, Gears of War, and Fable 2 were also a reason to buy a 360. However, Oblivion was my stamp of approval to buy the xbox 360 :)
i bought ti because i wanted a next gen system. the wii didn't intrust me very much; i bought a gamecube barely played that. the ps3 is to expensive for me, i didn't have a hd tv at the time when i bought the 360.
I was an Playstation 2 owner last gen, & after playing Far Cry & Halo 2 on my brother's Xbox I started to give the Xbox 360 more thought. Before then I was set on buying the Playstation 3. From there several things steered me. The main things of course were Xbox Live & the Xbox 360's cheaper price tag.
I was going to hold out until the PS3 was released and then compare the 2 before I made my choice, however I ran into a deal I couldn't pass on. Before making the choice on which console to get I knew I needed to get an HDTV, I looked through some on the internet & picked out the Samsung 50" Plasma 720p/1080i HDTV. So I went to Best Buy the next day to see if they had that there & they just happened to have a deal set up on 3 HDTVs, including this one. If you bought the HDTV, one $60.00 game, & a wireless controller then you got the Xbox 360 console for free. After I seen that, well my debate was out the window. Since then I have no regrets, the Xbox 360 rocks.
hdmi, awesome games, live, good controller, don't like ps3 (i'm not a xbox fanboy - i loved ps2 but for some reason i just really prefer the 360 to ps3), pretty cheap, variety of games, msn, downloadable stuff etc. etc. etc. there is loadsa reasons and it is AWESOME
because this is the XBOX 360!, but seriously i had a wii from launch, amazing console and still is, but i was sick of neglecting the "hardcore" online shooters and sports games, and the deep rpgs with fabulous graphics that could only be imagined by a nintendo gamer.
because it has a great library for games. i had a wii but sold it do to lack of games and the ps3 well its a sweet machine but the price tag was to much and the lack of games. if sony had a bigger library i woulda bought a ps3 but i aint paying 499 for a system with nothing to play
why did i get a 360 ,, why did i get a game cube why did i get a xbox all for this same reason lol perfect dark zero i was so waiting for it for at least 5 years when it was first announced on gc it later was pushed over to xbox with no news throughout 4 years , , then finally got a firm date on another console and thats the 360 ,, so ya disapoint ment but that was one of the main reasons the 2nd is because no other new console was ready so ihad that time to spare then get the wii at launch i got the ps3 3 months later then wii so ya practically every console falls in to my hands lol for every different rreason honestly nintendo will always be my main console ichoose because im more familiar with them , also their always the cheapest of the 3 , the xbox was not bad so i decide to get a 360 knowing the above console wasnt out the same time , if it was i would have waited a few months at least which i did any way because the shortages lol , but ya wii 2 will definatelly be my first investment knowing 360s successor isnt around any time sooner , ps3 successor if its over 700 itll wait lol im not taking that chance again , , no games to play was hard to deal with on ps3
Because I had the gamecube for years, and I was just totally bored of it. Ever since the first halo came out I've been dissapointed with the gamecubes lineup of games. I needed a new console, fast, and I knew that the 360 had plenty of good shooters (my favorite genre at the time and it still is), so I bought that.
I didn't buy it,I found it lying on a street and I thought "oh that's funny white box,me takes it" after a year friend told me that I can play some games on it,so I tried and now i play it everyday.
I got it for its unlimited amounts of fun and gameplay, its difficulty (you can't find games as hard as what it offers unless you go way back to N64 days!) and much more than that. Its quality is the best as far as today's gaming goes, and it highly exceeds the standards, much like the SNES when it was released. It far surpassed any other console around then pretty much with its near and full 3D graphics. But I'm not in on it for graphics. Its games are the best you can get your hands on if you want today's gaming. Also, the fact you work for more than just beating the game (achivements) is something never seen before, and makes it even more worth it to get yourself a handful of games.
Because I like having all next systems(and no I don't count the wii as a next gen system) Plus dead rising is awesome, and I've been waiting for fable, but I hardly play my 360
the original xbox in my opinion was by far the best console out last gen and thus when the 360 came out of the gates first this gen i immediately hopped on it. not to mention i was dying to get on live on a next gen system. live is still the definitive way to game online.
