How did this turn into a thread about PC versus console?
Here's an opinion for you: I like consoles better than PC. Why? Because I do. Because it IS true that many games, especially new ones, require tweaking and such on a PC, because even a high-end PC requires upgrades every year or two, and they are expensive.
If I buy six games per year (about typical for me), I pay about $120 for the priveledge of playing it on the 360. That money also ensures me of 100% compatibility. AND, until the day that the XBOX 720 comes out, I will not need to do a thing to my 360 to make it play a brand-spanking new game.
If I buy a PC that is capable of playing games better than a 360, I will pay a minimum of $800, and much more realistically over $1000. Even if you assume no upgrades for 4 years, I will only have paid about $480 in "premiums" to play on the 360. So, $400 system plus $480 premium is about $880. I bet you spend much more than that on PC hardware in a 4-year span.
Even if you play more games than me and would pay a higher premium on games, you still have a lower-cost point-of-entry on a console.
So take your pick. I like consoles. I like playing games while sitting in my recliner and watching a 54" screen in HD. You can make arguments that your PC is better, but it's still just an opinion. Your choice in controllers doesn't matter to me. I don't want to play my 360 with a KBM, and I certainly don't want to do it with a Wii-mote. It is therefore only your OPINION that this option makes a PC better.

Allright, I agree the thread got derailed a bit, but I will finish with this comment.
Yes, it's perfectly fine to enjoy a console more than a PC, for the reasons you've stated. I have enjoyed consoles for many generations now, and I love how its basically turn on and play.
But that aside, the PC simply does offer better controls, better graphics, better online. Yes it costs more, but you get what you pay for.
Sure you need a bit more of a brain and patience to use it, but that comes with the territory, and for most PC enthusiasts, thats all part of the fun.
And, to make this comment a little more relevant to the thread, games cost $10 less at release, and a lot less down the road. So if you buy a ton of games, this can eventually offset the higher cost of hardware.
