I didn't mind it but it was nothing compared to RE4. Don't get me wrong, I played through it in online coop with a friend and we had a blast but still not as good as RE4..
[QUOTE="deadly_shuriken"]Didnt like it at all....nowhere near the same as the old RE games... the only good thing about that game are the graphics....everything else just sucksorb_03_2006I DO agree that is wasn't as good as RE4. It wasn't scary whatsoever. but I liked it :D but I beat it at least 25 times. can't stand it anymore. I dont see how they can make an RE and not make it scary whatsoever, what a disappointment

Nothing can beat the first 3. 4 and 5 were really bad when it came to story telling and I always prefered the old clunky gameplay because it was scarier that way. 5 was good as an action game, but as a Resident Evil game, I hated it. Sheva is a terrible character and the way it ended really pissed me off. It had so much potential. DoomtimeUmm... I disagree completely. RE4 is THE BEST resident evil game ever made. And I dont see why nobody likes RE5, I found it kinda scary and the gameplay was a blast! I just don't understand why everybody disses it. It makes me mad!
Couldn't stand it. Terrible controls, simple gameplay, and little replayability. No scare factor either. KHAndAnime
That about sums it up.

Resident Evil 4 was a great game, but as a Resident Evil game, I didn't like the new direction. There are plenty of other fans that feel the same way which is why there's a rift between us now. And I just told you why I dissed it but you didn't acknowledge it. The story was atrocious. The ending was atrocious. Sheva was a waste of development money. And the story was atrocious. Yes I said that twice. They expanded the universe with spin off games, journals, websites, movies(also terrible) and they gave us that to be satisfied with. The ending was so bad.
I loved the game, but after beating it on professional and nothing changes level after level, it just got boring quick. I thought RE4 was far better, but the co-op was a plus. I hope RE6 has more replay value in it. What would be cool in my mind in this. Since Umbrella has special task forces, they should have a multiplayer mode where you play a group of four or six task members in a story mode. Custom characters and equipment. Id like that.
Overall, I enjoyed the game. I didn't like the fact that it was more action packed then scary... T.T
RE 1 and RE 2 [ Best in the series IMO ]
Yeah Co-Op can be fun but at same time I almost think it can hurt. It's hard to desribe but there was just something really badass about taking out hundreds of infected, and huge bosses by your self. For example when you fight the Chainsaw Majini, in co-op you can spread out, and have one guy unload on his head with a sniper while the other runs around with a shot or machine gun and gernades. That's RE5. In RE4 you got to stay away and kill him your self without any assisstence. That's just one small example and there are plenty of others.I didn't mind it but it was nothing compared to RE4. I don't get the "it doesn't follow the RE scary gameplay tridition" hate. That just dosn't make sense to me if it's fun then it shouldn't matter if it's not like the rest of the series and I don't see why just because it's different from the other games it should hamper your experince

Don't confuse a minority or 1/3 of the audience as 'everybody'.
Personally, I was never a Resident Evil fan, simply because of the fact that I was a young'un. I didn't find killing zombies to be kickass, I found it to be a nightmarish goul-fest that kept me awake for countless nights.
As for RE5, I just didn't like it from the start, especially since I was new to RE to begin with.
Akward controls, not being able to run and shoot, ammo is scarce....It just completely turned me off.
I wonder if those who say RE4 is better than at least the first 2 Resident Evil's actually played the games back when they originally came out. I never liked the change in direction that RE4 took, therefore I didn't enjoy RE5 much either because it felt exactly like RE4 with improved graphics and annoying AI.
I loved it better than RE4. But then again I seem to like the games no one likes and dislike the games everyone likes :D
I thought it wuz awsome i just didnt enjoy the friendly AI and also the story wasnt very impressive I thought RE4 was better
It was nothing more than meh
especially following RE4
In RE5 you get an AI partner that 'helps' you and she ruins the game hands down
In RE4 you get an AI partner with no form of attacking and I barely even notice she is there she never gets in the way and it's funny whe she thinks I'm looking up her skirt
That is one thing that is amazing to me about RE4 a large portion of the game is an escort mission that actually DOESN'T suck
I thought it was more than meh, but yeah as I said the partner isn't much of a help infact it's more of a drag. For one I absouletly hated having to help keep my partner alive, it was such a drag even when I was playing with a human. If you play with a CPU partner then she get's in your way a whole bunch (as in getting in your line of fire), if you play with a human then it can get difficult especially if they don't have a mic (and even if it's a friend it just doesn't feel like RE4). I also hater infected with guns, that was so not needed at all you had to fight them like it was a completely different game. Besides that I thought in general RE4's environments we're alot cooler. It was nothing more than meh

I completely agree.I played The original Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2, and a few of the others like Code: Veronica X, Outbreak, and many other older ones, and I thought RE4 was the best. It had great controls (especially for the Gamecube), a great storyline, and Leon is just badass!I wonder if those who say RE4 is better than at least the first 2 Resident Evil's actually played the games back when they originally came out. When compairing Resident Evil 5 and Dead Space, I would say Resident Evil 5 was better. Dead space was too easy. Part of the reason is being able to move and shoot. I felt more fear and tension in Kameo. It should not be see enemies seconds later the enemy die.
