Hello all,

I was wondering if I could gain some insight on why people hate Kane and Lynch so much. I played the demo for the first game last night, and it actually convinced me to hop on Amazon and buy it. I honestly don't think half of the people who review it have played it, because what they complain about either isn't a complaint, or it's just a simple, non-descript, stupid review like, "Dont buy this game it sucks because it's bad and sucks and things". The graphics are fine, the control is fine, the AI isn't the smartest but still fine. The MP seems like a riot, so my real question is...why? Also, please add me on Xbox Live so we all can Kane and Lynch it up online. GT: pugsarecool. I'm talking about the first game too.

They just arn't smart enough to understand how good it really is. I never trust any reviewers but myself and Classic game room and sometimes angry joe. Only good reviewers. Didint this site fire a guy for giving the second a bad score cause they were paid off?

Jeff Gerstmann was fired for giving the first game a bad review. Also I've never played the game but a lot of people seemed to think the controls were bad, that was one major complaint for the first game.

The controls are just as normal for any other TPS out there. Wtf is wrong with them firing a guy that has a family because they were to corrupt to tell him they wanted a good review

Dog Days is one of my favorite games this gen. It's a good series. Pretty sure the movie wont do it justice.

In my playing of the demo I felt the controls were fine. Was typical TPS controls with squad controls like Ghost Recon or Rainbow Six. Me_Rock get the first game, but try the demo first. Sweet_Genocide, do you have the first game? We need to band together and start up the first games multiplayer again, unless it isn't currently dead. I have no clue.

I think that Kane and Lynch is fantastic! I love the campaigns. Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days was a little disappointing if only in the weak story and the ending being rushed/not there at all. Don't get me wrong though, it is still very fun and if you love your games with lots of ammo dropping, guns cracking and loads of kabooms, you will love it :). Out of the two I would say that I prefer the first. I prefer its' locations, story and general feeling of the game... and yes, the controls are fine. In fact, I never even thought about the controls as there is no problem with them at all :P. I think that most people hate it/never tried it and the bad word gets around about the whole Jeff Gerstmann/firing incident that nobody wants to try it if they hear it is a bad game. That is only my opinion on the matter though. I would say the campaign is probably just as much fun as Gears of War! the first one, mainly.

K&L is one of my favorite duo's in gaming. They seem to always be in the worst of situations and unlike other games that have this scenario, never get saved by anoyone else.

It's because of that whole Jeff Gerstmann fiasco a few years back.

Definately! :). They are an awesome team and what they say, do etc. makes them even more awesome. They seem like the bad guys, but at the same time the good guys. Definately an unique team.

The first game was actually quite good i really enjoyed the SP and the MP was fun as well. The second wasnt as good imo but the SP was still fun to play through once or twice and the MP was different in a good way but did quickly become boring. The second isnt worth it at full price but for cheaper i would def suggest it.

Many people who hate on Kane and Lynch have actually never played it they just go by everyone else is saying that and the whole GS incident didnt really do the game any favors. Was it the next blockbuster hit no but i would say the first was an above average game with fun co op.

I thought the first half of the original was EPIC...

Major Spoilers....

I loved the prison and I thought escaping the Tower was awesome. Like something out of Heat. Though they seemed to go into the jungle for no reason and I got bored with it.

i liked the first game a lot, especially playing coop with a friend. But the second one is mindblowing imo. Outstanding visual design and story. Sure it's repetitive, you only shoot different guys with different weapons, but if your're playing this game to shot something, which you should cause it's a third person SHOOTER, you should have a blast!

I thought the first game was ok. It didn't really do anything special game play wise. I also only found a couple of levels to be to be interesting through their entirety. A lot of the missions started of fun, but then dragged on (the chase scene on the freeway which then turns into you running away... I would have loved if that level stopped after about 2 minutes). But I've got to say that the Night Club level was quite possibly the coolest level I've ever played in a shooter. I also never played mp so I can't comment on that. I would say the only thing about the game is that it isn't that memorable to me. It is definitely not going to be a game that I play more than once or twice.

Hopefully Dog Days will still have some people playing online whenever I get around to buying that one. I played the demo and really liked it, but the MP portion of the demo was just a trainwreck of lag, and you couldn't invite a friend to your game, so my bro and I couldn't try it out together. The lag made it hard to convince him that the game was really cool.

I was really tempted to buy a couple of copies for my bro, wife, and I, just to take a chance that the online may have sucked with lag (and invite options) just because it was a demo. It would have really been something fresh, but I couldn't bring myself to shell out $150 on a chance when the game came out.

The undercover heist mode was really unique compared to the cookie-cutter MP modes that are in practically every other game out there.

Well I don't think it has ever been proven that he was, but gamespot was getting a s*** ton of ads from Kane & Lynch and it was said that (whoever developed or published it) was really pissed off about the bad review since they gave a good amount of money to gamespot (through ads) and that was why that guy got fired.

But there has always been some messed up stuff with reviews. I am pretty sure another publisher (can't remember which one, but I remember hearing about it within the last 2-3 months) actually allowed websites to release early reviews only if they scored the game well. That is an incentive for a website to just give a game a good review to increase traffic.

Not everyone feels that way. I liked the first game. It had a respectable plot featuring an interesting character duo, with a fairly solid shooter to carry the game. I give it a 7.5/10. Just wait until the sequel though. It takes the story elements and character development that made the first entry worth playing, and nearly removes them. It was quite a disappointing 4 1/2 hour playthrough, with an ending so abrupt that I wonder if the developers just gave up. I personally give it a 6/10; the wasted potential irritates me, but at least it was enjoyable co-op.

On a whole i quite like the series, although the second half of the 1st one, aggravated me a lot, whilst the first part was pretty damn good. Thankfully the second one was a massive improvement :)
