Why do people like Gow multiplayer?

All the times I've played it people always use nothing but the shotgun. They just spam the roll button and don't even bother taking cover or using the automatic weapons.

The last few title updates made the shotgun the most overpowered weapon in the game. They also made it nearly impossible to chainsaw or melee. Shotgun is almost the only real option these days.

Play against the bots if you dont like online.

so can I say Halo Reach's mp is teh suck because it's a DMR fest?

he shotgun thing is a relic from the first Gears, it's only been exacerbated by the updates, doesn't make the MP bad.

I agree, I don't even like Gears 2 MP that much at all, went to other and better games after a while.

Gears 3 should be better hopefully.

because it is different to the usual COd and Halo

I enjoy the horde mode of GoW a lot. It's one of my favorite online multiplayer experiences on the 360.

Halo Reach is terrible because everybody just uses the DMR

It's all about the shotgun, if you're not good with it you'll likely get pwned.

Its not that hard to counter and if you just keep yourself a medium distance people are unlikely to charge through your bullets to get a shotgun kill(although people do try lol).Rush the power weapons and just avoid getting at really close range with people.Don't totally disregard the thing though, it becomes handy.

I don't think its used that much though, most people i see use all the weapons.
