Why do they call it Xbox 360?

Well...360 degrees is a full circle, so if you turned around and walked away you would have turned 180 degrees.

But why do they call it X-Box 360? Maybe they wanted to take a full circle back to gaming's best days? Wait, that doesn't make sense...probably just a marketing strategy, much like Nintendo calling their console the Wii. Some things just don't make sense.

Do you want to know the real reason? It is twofold.

1. They didn't want to call it "Xbox 2" because stupid consumers would see Playstation 3, and think... "3... bigger than 2..." and then buy the system labeled with the higher number.

2. Look back to the time when Wii was called "Revolution". 360 is a full revolution.

They had all their bases covered.
