1. I love it cause the controller is great for most games. (directional pad is bad though), the ps3 controllers only good part is the dpad is better

2. M$ pwns.

3. The games are really great and look much better than ps3.

4. And come the fall dashboard update, games will be able to be installed on the hard drive making things load faster hopefully... and less dvd loading noise.

5. ?

I personally love my 360 because in terms of its online experience and content (which will be doubled in awesomeness come Nov. 19), amazing array of games, and its overall design and feel. These aspects of a console are important to me, which is why I favor the 360 over the PS3 and Wii.

I have no bias towards any of the systems, because I have owned and vigorously played consoles from Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. In general, PS3 is superior in hardware, features, and media capabilities, and the Wii is a more social-friendly, reliable console. If I wasn't so satisfied with my 360, I would buy the other consoles without hesitation.

So to answer your question, buying a 360 is more than the right choice to make. I know you've probably heard about the 360's cons, such as hardware failure (which has been pretty much fixed and eliminated), the neccessity to pay for Xbox Live (which is totally worth it IMO) and its lack of varietic media support (which could be improved but is good enough), and a number of other cons, but if you want a console that you'll love yourself for having, then buy the 360.

I love my 360 just-because.
It's like trying to explain why I love my mother, father or sister - I don't know why... It just is.

Then there's the benefits of the 360 compared directly to the PS3 in the initial and ongoing operating costs both being significantly less.

Of course, the Wii trumps the 360 on the same criteria, but the 360 has better games IMO.

Plus, I mean... Seriously... Halo...

What he said! :) I also own a Wii and have PS2 (need some more pennies for a PS3 :( ) so I am not biased towards 360, but of all the consoles I have owned this is by far my favourite and I have even had the RRoD!

I both have the Wii and the x360. I like the x360 more, because:

1. the hardware. Sure the wiimote is interesting, but in the end, I just want the oldschool gaming with fantastic graphics, sounds and relaxed use of a controller. Waving a remote is more like a "gimmick" imho.

2. THE GAMES OF COURSE! Halo 3, GTA 4, Mass Effect, Assassins creed, Forza 2, Call of Duty, Gears of War! The only games of equal quality on the wii are Zelda: TP and Mario Galaxy. The other games felt too much like a gadget.

3. I don't know.. Playing on the xbox just gives me a feeling of relaxation and gaming-zen. Playing the Wii made me sweat.

In all other cases, it is a matter of taste.

Overall, it has one of the best controllers of this generation of consoles. Sony might have had the better one the last generation, but their move to those ridiculous triggers and trying to shove motion sensing at the expense of rumble tarnished what they had with the DualShock2. Yes there is a DS3 with rumble, but who cares as long as those ridiculous triggers are still there? A HUGE number of really great games, and the multiplatform games tend to be better on 360, with a few exceptions. Despite all the talks of red ring being prevalent with the console, my HDMI-enabled Pro has been like a Sherman tank, taking much more (ab)use than I'd expected it to. Conversely, I'm now on my THIRD 60gb ps3 and am now having to take it in to Sony for service at the whopping note of $150. I hate to keep using ps3 comparisons, but this one is totally warranted - the issue of backward compatibility. Sony started with near-100% BC for PS1 and PS2 games. Then it went down to 60~80% BC via software. Now, you can't buy a new ps3 with backward compatibility anymore. Conversely, Microsoft started with 16~30% BC for Xbox 1 games. They'd since been improving on it further and further. Now, the list is at 51% of the Xbox 1 library. With Sony, many of the games that did not work at all, or were very very glitched, included many top franchises for the console - Final Fantasy among them. Sony would understate this trying to play up the angle that their console had more complete BC, and it did eventually get resolved, IF you were rich enough to afford a unit with hardware BC. Many of the games that were only glitched with the hardware BC units are still glitched or unplayable on softBC units (a.k.a. the "limited edition" 80GB models). Microsoft knew they could not get 100% BC because of licensing issues for the IP on key hardware in the original Xbox; they instead focused on the games they knew most people would actually WANT to still play (though there were a few odd ones that made the list that probably shouldn't have - Barbie, anyone?  ) even so though, it did improve, and more games were being added in fairly significant number. On the ps3 side, you will literally have to pay out the ass if you want a system with hardware BC now on eBay, and just pray you either don't get conned or a nonfunctional unit. All you need to have BC with a 360 is *a* hard drive - doesn't matter what size, so long as you have one. And at least now that most all the Xbox 1 games I cared about are BC, I needn't worry about what model I run anymore. It's rather hilarious how Sony used the BC as a sticking/selling point of their console, only to remove it later without telling anyone. MS never advertised full BC, and yet instead of getting rid of it, they made it better. And no, I don't bow to the Master Chief's feet, just like with how I hate Link from the Zelda series. But just as there are plenty other games I like on the Wii, there are plenty of other great games on the 360 that it simply doesn't matter if I like halo or not, because there's plenty of other things I can play on it instead.

The xbox360 is more toward the players that have played their whole lives, like myself and im sure alot of people on here. I have a Wii and an Xbox 360 and I never play anything but Rock Band on my Wii (for the simple fact that I dont wanna buy it again for the 360)

Basically what everyone here has said.

- the incredible games which are only getting added to in the next while here.

- the amazing feel of control and options the system gives you and it's innovative design

- the outstanding graphics

- the ability for me to play my entire music library from this computer through the 360 while im playing

- although not as important, i love the anticipation of seeing the little notification of a new acheivment pop up on the screen:D

and well it's just a downright fun and very cool system, not to mention it just looks badass sitting here on my desk.

just talking about it like this, i just had to give it a big kiss!

you will enjoy owning it bud and soon fall in love with it like all of us

Got only one reason, a couple of games. Hardware wise its pure trash. Fable and Gears keep the 360 in my house, nothing else. As for the people saying the issues are non exsistant....is that why Gamestop/EBgames still has a 25% return rate due to hardware, and disc drive failure? And thats just ONE retailer. RRoD is still there big time.

ANyone looking to get a 360 needs to do serious research. I have been through 11 pro sytems and 2 elites. Its got a hardcore library without a hardcore reliability. No matter how much space you give it, how clean yopu keep it, most 360's will fail at some point. Its a design flaw the seemingly cant be fixed. This isnt trolling its just plain truth. People need to understand that a extended warranty is a MUST for people who want a 360.

I love my 360 because it's games library is immense and I can always find a game I'm interested in playing. Also there's a lot of new awesome games coming out before Christmas. I have really little hands yet the controller fits perfectly and I like the layout of the pad.

I've got all three of the platforms. I like them all equally in their own right, but here are my own reasons for having a 360:

1. It's got a very strong library of Live Arcade games--with demos so you can try them before you decide to purchase them. From arcade retro classics like Double Dragon and Golden Axe, to original games like Geometry Wars, there's something for just about everybody.

2. Every game you buy for the 360 gives you the opportunity to earn achievements, meaning you can always go back to a game you've long since beaten and try to earn 'trophies' for various in-game challenges. To me, that adds to the replay value of the 360's game library, no matter what game it is.

3. I'm excited about the new dashboard overhaul coming out. I'm a fairly new 360 owner, so I could not have bought the system at a better time.

4. The 360's library of games are diverse and numerous. Chances are, you'll find a game that you'll enjoy--FPS, RPG, adventure--you name it, the 360 probably has it.

5. For me personally.....my library's just starting to grow, but I'm so looking forward to Banjo Kazooie-Nuts and Bolts :)

Why do you love the 360?

space-invaders

Great controller, great graphics, great games, great online service, XBLA Braid and Duke Nukem 3D FTW!
