because it requires no skill. Higher level players have better weapons and perks than lower level players, making it too uneven and hard on people who are starting out. I like it though.
Because its the "cool thing" to bash on MW 2. I have admittedly spent alot of time ripping MW 2 for its flaws. However the basic gameplay is a blast and the new maps have really helped the game regain some lost life. My biggets complaints about MW 2are that the Killstreaks are way too unbalanced and overpowered and some of the perk combinations are just plain stupid. Camping is kind of out of control as well, but that will always be present in any FPS to some extent. Now that they have released the BAREBONES PRO and BAREBONES TACTICAL, my complaints are slim to none. The Barebones modes take away the Killstreak rewards and make it simply all about kills and achieving objectives.
Just go ahead and get it. Its a bit different form CoD 4 and WaW, but not so different that it will feel foreign to you and its everybit as fun as those games despite some nagging flaws.
Because it's popular.Burizpretty much, granted theres some legit things to hate about the game but for the most part people hate on it simply to hate on it
I loved the campaign, it followed CoD 4 nicely and it was awesomely epic. Most people complained that the plotline made no sense and was unbelieveable, which I think is BS because I thought the story made sense. And the main thing was WHO CARES about the story in an FPS. I mean the story was good but people totally ignored the gameplay and just ragged on the story the whole time. Most of them probably didn't even play the first game which plays a large part in the events of the second one.As for online, I got to level 3 before quitting because the people were just annoying and I got killed every five seconds. But, everyone else was like level 70-something and in their prestige levels, so it was expected.
Edit: Also alot of weenies were complaining that there was a level which was too "shocking" and "unneeded" and that "they couldn't do it". When I heard theses complaints I was like COME ON PEOPLE! First off it's a video game, they're just 3D-model running around, you don't actually kill real people. Second the game is rated M, if you aren't MATURE (hence the M rating) enough to play a video game where you kill people... ahem... 3D models, don't play it. Third alot of people complained that the level was irrelevant to the story, I don't get this, people must have not finished the game if they thought that. Fourth people thought that it could have just been a cutscene, but CoD doesn't use cutscenes... Fifth they could have just used the "in between levels reports"to say that it happened, that takes all of the fun out of it and gets rid of the shock value and takes away the hatred that IW wanted you to feel towards the villian.

Only if barbones took away noobtubes and RPG's i would be set.I simply dislike dying so often. I mean, if i'm not getting killed by a spawn camper ora nade, I'm getting slaughtered by the over-done airsupport. It's just not fun for me anymore. Toobers, glitchers, commando dicks, campers. I just feel over-whelmed with **** when I play this game.

Just so untrue.
If it required no skill, everybody would always do equally over time, and thats not the case.
And just like CoD4 and World at War, you get access to top-class weapons either immediately or very quickly. The M16 in CoD4 was a noob gun, and you had that at the start, and the Mp40 in WaW was available quite early on. In MW2, you get the M4 very early. Perks like stopping power and whatnot are also gotten at pretty low ranks.
There's lots of ways to gain a skillful or tactical advantage in the game.
Anyways, I've defended MW2 a lot over the last year, but I admit I haven't played it in a while. I'm not hating on MW2 itself, but on the franchise in general. The gameplay, while still immaculate compared to its competition in my opinion, is just getting old. Been there, done that, ya know? 100's of hours from CoD4 to MW2 and I'm wanting a refresher, not more of the same. I suppose they've just raised the bar so high, they've played themselves out!
While its true some people do hate the game just to hate it, it does have its flaws to be legitimately griped about as well. Those being as mostly aforementioned, the gameplay is tired more of the same, way to many grenades all the time single player or multi player, and this is true of all the call of duty games on any higher level difficulties. The action is so fast paced that your mostly clicking to re-spawn as opposed to shoot at someone or something. and the kill streaks are entirely out of control so much so they had to release a game mode to tone it down so right theres your proof. I did love CoD4 but MW2 just felt like too much of a copy paste + bonuses that at least in my opinion only made the game worse. The only game mode i enjoyed on MW2 was the spec ops missions.

I don't really think level has much to do with it. I personally find that many people still use the things such as the Famas and stopping power, both entry level perks and weapons, even after they have unlocked better. How well you do depends on the kind of player you are. But I play PC so it might be different on console.
I do agree that it doesn't take all that much skill and think some people just bash it because they expect more. Just a personal opinion though. I personally think it has some flaws but I've put days into it so I can't really complain.

That's entirely untrue. My k/d ratio has NEVER been under 1.8 in that game. Hell, it was above 2 when I was only around level 15. Perks and weapons can only do so much for you. I have used the Famas with a red dot since level 1 (or whatever early level I unlocked the red dot for it at) and now have a 2.03 k/d ratio at level 66. People using higher level weapons still get owned by me. And as far as perks go, I've only ever used Stopping Power, Steady Aim and Sleight of Hand... the Pros on 2 of those 3 do basically nothing for a player using nothing but a Famas and Sleight of Hand Pro's extra effect is only somewhat helpful. People who make that "this game is unfair because higher level people have better stuff" argument just aren't as good as whatever higher level people are beating them. Perks and weapons aren't what make you good; how well you play is about 10x more important than those two things combined. It does require skill. Just because you don't need super realistic precision and accuracy to be good like you might in other games, doesn't mean that the game doesn't require skill. It's just a different kind of skill. MW2 is more about knowing where to position yourself, when to run-and-gun and when to camp, and how to adjust, rather than being centered around your ability to shoot accurately. And even when it comes to that, the game DOES require a decent amount of skill with shooting. Saying games don't require skill is basically admitting that people have bested you and you can't admit that they had more skill than you, so you to decide to slander the games and claim that everything that occurs in them is based on luck (which is entirely impossible).
More on topic though, people hate on MW2 because they either 1) get crushed in it, 2) get very angry with it because they do reckless things and then blame others (ie, running out of a building when a chopper gunner is out) or 3) think it's cool or rebelliously awesome to give a popular, very mainstream game the thumbs down. I've honestly never seen a MW2 hater who doesn't fall into one of those categories.
Oh and people who complain about "noobtubes" (lol... really?), people who knife and so on really just need to get over it. If someone gets 30 kills with their knife, it's a crime. But if I go 35 and 2 with my Famas, everyone is like "dude you great, me copy your clan tag." Kills are kills. A high k/d ratio is a high one, no matter how you get it. Saying noobtubing takes no skill is just ignorant - it just takes different kinds of skill. Honestly, I would play horrible if I tried to noobtube. I'd probably go 10 and 8 or something of the sort, and the same goes with knifing. So, the people who do amazing with those styles of play obviously have a good amount of skill if someone who has a 2+ k/d ratio can't switch over to their play style and play well.
And about killstreaks being out. If there's a helicopter/AC/Harrier up, don't go outside. If there's a predator drone up, get inside. It's not difficult... the people who complain about those things are the people who walk right into them and then ask why they died.
What is this Barebones you speak of? I've heard nothing of it and my friends play this garbage all the time. I would actually start playing again maybe. I like the arcade-style shooters but MW2 was too flawed. People love to say "it's got a lot of flaws but it's still a fun game" but yet when another game has a few flaws, it gets called garbage. If MW2 wasn't a Call of Duty game, people wouldn't play it.Because its the "cool thing" to bash on MW 2. I have admittedly spent alot of time ripping MW 2 for its flaws. The game failed to deliver, community sucks, gameplay is broke and filed with bugs and the developers just sit there laughing and counting their cash.
Sadly my cousin played it on my account on the 4th of July so its showing on my profile :x
I am new and I just wanted to know why everyone hates MW2, my friends told me it sucks.MW2ISAWSOMEBecause it does, your friend is right. If you like running around like a chicken with its head cut off going for the best K:D you can then it is good. It has zero teamwork, no squads, overpowered guns, stupid killstreaks, and rip off map packs.
I can't really say that i "hate" it because that is a super strong word. It is a fun game but it does get rather boring after a while. As for why does "everyone" hate MW2, according to the activision big cat 60% of the xbox community plays the game so you are bound to have people hating on it. The killstreaks they went a bit overboard on in my opinion.

so you suck at the game im guessing
MW2 really isn' t that bad, well at least playing Search and Destroy isn' t that bad but, here' s some of the gripes I have with this game.
- AA-12 Shotgun
- Thermal scopes
- tactical knifers
- Extremly nerfed penetration system
- Stopping Power with no Juggernaut to counter it
- Noobtubers and RPGers abusing One Man Army and Scavenger
- Occasional hit detection issues due to lag
- Commando Perk
Other these problems you shold be fine especially if you stick to Search and Destroy, if not then well good luck.

Great list you forgot the killstreak awards that basically promote camping.

I didn' t add them because I mostly play S&D so most people don' t survive long enough to even get a harrie either that or the match is over. And still people are complaining about weapons and classes that people use ... People using things that result in you dying a lot =/= the game sucks. That just means that you expect to beat someone who keeps killing you without adjusting, thinking or trying to work around their class. What's the point of playing the game if there's no challenge and you can just run around doing the SAME EXACT thing and be good? I grief all kinds of players with the most simplistic class in the game, and the good ones adjust. I've seen akimbos and knifers do horribly because they've tried to play without adjusting.
And about hacks and cheating... LOL. Really? The two are rather uncommon. In all reality, you are most likely lagging or are blaming things of that nature because you do poorly. Someone please name specific "hacks and cheats" in the multiplayer...
And camping is part of the game........ just like it's a part of any shooter. People who run around with UMP40s randomly spraying with steady aim aren't any better than those who camp out buildings. They are just different ways to play. If you obliviously run into a place where you know someone is camping and get dropped by them, over and over again, obviously it will annoy you, but that's your problem lol...
As frustrating as i find it at times when people sprint round with tac knives or solely use thumpers or grenade launchers and nothing else, i accept it is part of the game and people have every right to play it as they wish.
Far worse for me are the people with aim bots and those who spend the whole game moaning at others. The other day i tried out the ump, first time i'd used it and had some guy calling me a "noob" and telling me to stop using it, yes because i'm really going to be told what to do! He kept having a go at people because of their set ups, obviously couldn't handle being killed and was spending too much time looking at the kill cams. Funny thing was, he was so obviously using an aim bot and when another player and I said something he didn't even bother to deny it.
Lets just get this out of the Way Infinity Ward really didn't want to make this game, it was pushed on them. However I think IW did a great job with the campaign and delivering what its audience wanted. The real problem with this game is uncontrollable by the game developers, and thats its horrible community full of hormonically challenged 13 year olds.lil_zelda_dudeThis And there have been tons of topics about this before. It's getting tiring to see the exact same topic every single week.

Hatred = Campers, Heartbeat sensor campers, noob tubers, hackers, glitchers, modders, boosters, poor lobby match making, ridiculous lag, over powered kill streaks and weapons, people whose only goal is to blow up every vehicle they can on every map they play, the list can go on and on and on........

Um nope, I just realized how bad it was and stopped playing it. You don't need to be bad at a game to use your brain and realize what a heaping pile of doo it is.Please Log In to post.
