I was watching the making of the game - i think it was on the bonus DVD that came with the game? Anyway, the guys that made the game were surprised at how well the multi player works - I think they pretty much tacked the multi player options on the end of the game as an after thought
I love gow multiplayer its just so funinsane_metalistNah man. Its the only game action game where pro gaming skills never usually work. Its luck based.I mean I'm awesome in games, but when you get headshot by a noob on his first game when you are a seasoned vet its just BS. The randomness is bad.
That is your very personal opinion ..Gears is the game that dethroned Halo 2 as most played game on XBL
What i find funny of your post is that you make that statement as it was a fact...it isn't.

What's wrong with other people getting kills and having fun? Are you a sore loser?
I don't know why it's so popular online. I think it's simply because there are so many people that owns Gears of War. I only played multiplayer a couple of times, and had a lot more fun with the singleplayer and co-op.
You should note that the Top 10 lists are based on games people play while logged on to Xbox Live, not necessarily playing multiplayer. That's why Oblivion was so high on the list, and Guitar Hero II was nr. 3 last week I think.

I personally love the mutliplayer, and I prefer it to any game that has come out within the last year. It's intense and exciting.

I mean, Gears was never touted as a big multiplayer heavy game. It isn't no Halo or Unreal Tournament. It almost feels like almost any other PS2 online game besides SOCOM. What I'm sayin is that Gears should be more well known as a Game with awesome graphics, story, and single player mode. The multi is nothing special.SgtStrungOut
Wow i think i just died from laughing so hard. You truthfully can't say Gears story is amazing... you can only say Gears Single-Player Experience is damn fun. The reason behind that is because Gears's story never leaves the starting gate.. It never progresses past killing locusts. The only way you know what E day is if you read it up on the internet, watch the pre game trailer, or read the manual. The only way you know why Marcus was in jail is to read the manual. I do fully understand that this game will have sequals to tell the story (i didn't say more i just said THE story because the sequals must actually tell the entire thing). You don't learn anything beyond the names of the characters. Oh and you also learn that the locust queen wants to kill you which is what she is trying to do the entire game so that doesn't change.
The Multiplayer really has about as much depth as the single-player but the three main reasons this game is so much damn fun and sold so well is this. The graphics are amazing...... the gameplay is non stop action even though it isn't a run and gun....... and this game isn't a run and gun. It differs in terms of gameplay from so many other games yet in terms of gameplay stacks up so well. In everything else it lacks considerably....
The game has about as much depth as a puddle, but i still play it because it is extremely fun and when it comes down to it that is was really matters. IF the game actually had a story and the gameplay wasn't as good then the game would suck.

pretty much zeppelin6591 summed it all up right there:| Shadowrun has 9 maps and like 3 game modes, and they aren't tacked on since the whole game is multiplayer.

Well, you are complaining that because you are not good at the game, you automatically think the game is terrible. Maybe because you are a so-called "gaming veteran", you are so used to run-and-gun gamesthat you rush to much.Use covera lot and make sure the opportunity is just right to get the kill.

Gears of war is an all-around fun game. The developers just did made the game a fun experience. The style, the graphics, the gameplay is just fun.
Even though the game still has bugs and glitches, stupid host advantage that really plays out in this game compared to others, and has some random crap in the game, it is still fun to play.

Wow, apparently you haven't played enough Gears online then because if you did you'd know that experienced players mow right through unexpierienced players and yes in a bad connection match theres a random factor, but if your truly good you'll still win.

I don't know, but he needs to stop passing along his opinions as facts.
The story was pretty bad, but then again I remember people all over in the Xbox forum saying that the story in Fable was the best story they have ever heard when that game came out. That, really scared me. I never enjoyed playing GoW online due to all the problems with hit detection.Wow i think i just died from laughing so hard. Well i understood the story and liked it.Its impossible not to understand. Marcus Fenix is taken out of jail to go kill the locust and you set out on a path to plant a bomb which will kill the locusts....... did i miss anything? Oh yea Bravo team dies....... and where is the effect on the game from that? Oh yea that Seargent Kim guy dies and Marcus leads the team to plant the bomb to kill locusts..... Then they go to his house because the 1st bomb didn't kill that many locusts and the reason theygo to his house is so they can get a map of the underground part so they can plant another bomb to kill even more locusts.
When does the game have anything else besides killing locusts? It makes me feel like the story was a rip off of the Black Hawk Down game and that game actually had no story but killing like 200 guys per level....... hmm no wonder it felt so much alike.
I didn't say the game doesn't start a story is just doesn't evolve or change throughout the game. Oh and the fact that you get more story through the manual is a shame.
I really like the game because of the action and the change from run and gun, but that is about all the game offers.

Ya ur right. Its a fun game. but it isnt balanced. but it is fun.It may not be as good as people say it is, but granade tagingor chainsawing other players when they haven't noticed you is priceless. Yesterday I granade tag the same person5 times in a row in a sthealty way. This dude got so mad at me that started calling me a noob and other insults that I decided to chainsaw him instead. I chainsaw him5 times in a row and won the match. His gametag was: XxGangsta(dont really remember the other part)xX
People keep saying there is no evidence for the multi player being tacked on - watch your bonus DVD and it should be right there!
I tried this for the first time last night online. I think its pretty good! Its fast fracntic and fun.
Its a bit too shallow for me -I still much prefer rainbow six vegas
One of the main gameplay concepts is built for multiplayer gaming. The concept of the down and the revive makes the team based multiplayer work really well. This is also a game unlike many FPS's that requires alot of teamwork and is more strategic than stampeding through with shotguns though if you are up against a bunch of newbs you don't have to do much else. Also not sure about you comment on when newbs kill you in this game because starting Gears multiplayer now you'd get your ass handed to you over and over again. It's so hard for a newb to get kills except for grenade tagging, chainsaws from behind or what I teach a new player to use first the pistol whip.

Yo dawg you need to stop whining and let people have their own opinions. It DOES take skill to play the game; you obviously just like different games than GOW. If it sucks, then why are so many people playing it? Leave it be.
