people are able to rush through the 3rd instalment of halo in 5 hours easily any more.

who knows how fast some one could rush through it on easy mode.

halo 1 had tons of plot to it, the mysteries of the halo ring.

halo2 had an epic plot, it introduced the covant side of the story and brought up the question what is the ark.

halo3 trashed what halo 1 and 2 set up and handed you 5 hours of single player campaign (its what it took on heroic on my side of this). all these questions were brought up about the forrunner and halo3 completly ignores them.

what was bungie thinking when they threw this half attemped at a campaign together?

You thought Halo 2 had an Epic plot? I cant agree with you there, I thought Halo 3 had a way better plot and did a better job than Halo 3 did.

You don't have a single 360 game in your "now playing" list so I'm just going to ignore your post. Also if you really like plot so much go watch a movie, I play for the gameplay.

They just made something happen in the story so you could shot people. All FPS games do it.

Andonline. I mean if Halo didn't have online would it have been half as big?

I like how when Gears of War was released so many people raved how great the story was, but when Halo 3 was released so many people say there is no story in their sorry excuse for a campaign. Are you kidding me? In my opinion for a game to have a story it must atleast answer one question and Gears never did that. Halo 3 did... It answered what the Covenant was looking for on earth and that was a gateway to the Ark. Right there is atleast one question answered.

Now while i don't think Halo 3's story is the best in the world by no means to i think it is bad. I liked Halo 1s and Halo 2s story and i also like Halo 3s. My personal favorite was Halo 2 because finally i was able to play as the "bad guys" which i have wanted to do for ages in shooting games (other shooters may have done that but i didn't play them). They actually went into what actually made up the covenant.

Halo 3 has a bit of story too. If you include the terminals and actually pay attention to what Cortana says some of the time (instead of hating it because it interrupted your game) you may realise there is a bit to it.

What bothers me most however is how much people bash game's stories so much. I want to see everyone that says Halo 3 has no plot or people who said Lost Planet's story sucked or people who actually though Gears of War had a story make up their own story and it be the marvolous creation that will be remembered to ages to come.

No plot? What about the FOUR novels I have sitting on my bookshelf right now? What about the three games that fit in seamlessly with the novels? This topic fails. So does the creator.

agreed! gears of war was nothing innovative IMO and its multiplayer isnt as exciting, but yet its still like the best game on 360. halo 3 is pretty much the same thing, but yet its getting torn apart. its cause half the people on GS think they are such big gamers that they can just single handedly decided what games are good and what arent.

thank you. really the halo story stands pretty good alone. now if you read the novels and the "iris" thing that bungie did. plus the terminals, you get a really great storyline

once again this was NOT about the halo universe. it was about halo3.

it had barely enough plot to fill 5 hours of a run n gun game.

about all it answered was what the thing on earth did.

my understanding of what the ark is, remains incomplete, what happened to the forrunner etc.

as for gears of war, if you play the game by itself, yes the story will be really confusing. but if you read the little art book that came with the limited edition, it will make much more sense. the art book may be small but it will help a lot.

As for plot though, you can't really expect a big games like gears or halo to put their entire storyline into a game.you have to read the books and maybe watch a really bad movie, but when you do thestoryline will be really great

to help you out, the ark is where one can fire all of the halo rings. the forerunners (humans)fired the halo rings after they made them to hopefully killed the flood, now you are probably thinking ' if halo destroys human life, how come ther are humans' well they put some forerunnners in onyx ( a planet that also serves as a secret shield agaisnt the halo rings)

i know you don't like the idea about reading the books and all that, but imagine everything in the halo universe was a game, including the books, you can't expect to know whats going on if youskip some games (books) like you can't expect to know whats going on if you only play halo and halo3 and you skip halo 2

i have read the books, thats why im pissed off we never learned what happened to the spartans on the inside out planet.

the ark has more purpose than just firing the rings. the incomplete instilation 04 proves that. theres more there than the game wanted to show us or go into.

why did it suddenly become ok to fire the rings off...it completly negates what MC did in both of the games befor hand.

then what happened to the forunner. they said humans are forrunner...but why are we so dumb and lack the technology. theres far too many holes for me to be happy about what little halo3 solved...which was what the thing on earth did.

again i'll help you out, the ark is like the master station for all the halos. it can rebuild and repair other halos or anything like that . when the instalation found out that truth was going to fire the halos it needed to build a replacement so the wepon ( all the halos firing together) would be complete. now master chief wanted tofire the unfinished halo ring because that would destroy all the halos, the ark, and flood. the humans don't have the technology as the forerunners because most of them died the ones that lived didnt know how to do all that stuff. for instance , lets say that i make cars.andi have a baby boy. now if i die, will he be able to make cars if no one is there to teach him. no, he will have to learn everything from the begining. similar the the forerunners

i will agree with you that we do not know what happens the the other spartans but that will probably be revieled in later books.

but why is ok to launch all the halos now?

theres still the problem of destroying the galaxy correct?

where do they go once they hit the button to destroy the halo? do they just die once the hit the button?

if master chief can so casualy set off all the halos with no consquence what was to keep the forrunner from doing the same thing.

why do the covanant know of this "great journey" if the forrunner who knew of this died out to the point they couldnt pass it on to the humans who were living on earth?

they dont fire all of the halos, just the unfinished one. it won't be powerful enough to kill all human life but it will enough to destroy itself and the ark, flood etc. the covenant want to fire the halo rings because they think that if they do they will go on a great journey, that they will live forever with their god. they know about the halos because when the forerunners built them they made stone tablet describing them. The covenant found them and misinterpreted them.

link for stone tablets

and what of bungies online comic which depicted aliens digging in afrika. the human with tribal cloathing shows this was after the forrunner pretty much died out and the human race was starting out.

the humans live way past this so its obviously not the covanant.

and the flood isnt dead, so theres no resolve there. only grave mind was apparently killed...but how he got onto high charity is another question.

a game thats getting 9s and 10s should not have to be excused for anything.

9s and 10s suggest this game is near perfection.

If you want a good plot then try reading the Halo books, they are entertaining and you might like them.

As for the game itself, they have always been about snippets of story with fast paced gameplay. Personally I am glad Halo doesn't have some over complicated plot where it ends up like an impossible to understand Metal Gear X game. :(

Why should it. It should be clear by now that the majority of Halo 3 buyers were in it for the MP. Most people I know just want achievements and MP matches, so why should Bungie care about making such an intense plot when they need to worrie about the gameplay elements and MP features

thats such horrable logic i dont even know where to start.

look at unreal tournament. they had some huge figure of people who bought UT2004 for the single player experiace. as a result they are putting in a real single player into ut3.

ut is known for its multiplayer, not single player.

and reguardless what people bought it for, bungie should provide a complete product. even if they use it for the multiplayer the campaign is sent to everyone.

This is a conclusion in a trilogy. That should make it pretty clear why there isn't a lot of plot......

if you race the game you miss the story, if you wanted no limits action then go on MP. Halo 3 had a very crediable story, made you really believe that the earths furture hinged on YOU. i believe Bungie did a great job with the single player campaign. also if you want the whole halo backstory like read the novels, look it up on halopedia and wikipedia and other sites. the Halo world is huge, halo 3 was "supposelty" the end but i think Bungie have got something there not telling us about reguarding Master Chief. Maybe another halo game.

GlassDominion

the only thing im commenting on is how short the campaign was. i reviewed the game to be an 8. an8 isnt bad.

and i own all the "nextgen" consoles, including handhelds.

Ah that's a Halo fan. Either you love it or you hate it. They can't comprehend that some think it's OK.

people are able to rush through the 3rd instalment of halo in 5 hours easily any more.

who knows how fast some one could rush through it on easy mode.

halo 1 had tons of plot to it, the mysteries of the halo ring.

halo2 had an epic plot, it introduced the covant side of the story and brought up the question what is the ark.

halo3 trashed what halo 1 and 2 set up and handed you 5 hours of single player campaign (its what it took on heroic on my side of this). all these questions were brought up about the forrunner and halo3 completly ignores them.

what was bungie thinking when they threw this half attemped at a campaign together?

GlassDominion

GlassDominion, I really do agree with you. We never found out who the Forerunners were. We never found out Cheif's true identity. We never find out what happens to Master Cheif. I just feel Bunjie added some new guns, grenades, and textures and gave us a half-@$$ plot. Thanks for hyping me up and then shoving it right up my butt, Bunjie.

[QUOTE="seeddrmmr"]No plot? What about the FOUR novels I have sitting on my bookshelf right now? What about the three games that fit in seamlessly with the novels? This topic fails. So does the creator.clyde46

thank you. really the halo story stands pretty good alone. now if you read the novels and the "iris" thing that bungie did. plus the terminals, you get a really great storyline

once again this was NOT about the halo universe. it was about halo3.

it had barely enough plot to fill 5 hours of a run n gun game.

about all it answered was what the thing on earth did.

my understanding of what the ark is, remains incomplete, what happened to the forrunner etc.

if you race the game you miss the story, if you wanted no limits action then go on MP. Maybe another halo game.

thats my point. theres too many loose ends for halo3 to be the last...and why cant they add content beyond barely 5 hours worth play through?

[QUOTE="flowdee79"]This is a conclusion in a trilogy. That should make it pretty clear why there isn't a lot of plot......GlassDominion

and yet theres still so many unanswered questions in halo?

theres so much more plot they could have brough closure to.

and i did by halo for the single player lord_tik

They didn't want to bring too itmuchof acloser. I think they may give us a 4th halo in the future or some kind of spin off in some other kind of multi media. This is Ironic though, the rest of the world complains abouttheU.S. making all of their plots too conculsive. Try watching a German movie and you'l know what I mean.

You're an idiot. Halo 3 completely takes you from the end of Halo 2 to the end of the fight, with almost no questions left unanswered. Also, the forerunner history is completely covered in the terminals
