Probably because the 360 cant handle 60fps in 1280x720p with AA on. The GPU isnt good enough. Some goes for the PS3.

The 360 can do AA just fine. Its the latest bigname games that have simply not included it. UE3, the engine powering a lot of the newer games, doesnt support AA. Halo 3 also decided against using AA, not quite sure on the reasons there. But 4xAA is definitely something that modified ATi card in your 360 is capable of doing.

Some good humor after a lot of fighting ( console wars) in the forums.

Although there may not be any option ingame but I think you can turn it on by using your GPU settings in the windows. If you have a good GPU ( ofcouse any bioshock player would have) then the AA would be of good quality. I am saying this since I did this thing with POP: WW, I have tried PC for a long time but this may work fine.

The 360 has dedicated memory on the gfx chip to do FSAA for free, however some games use a type of rendering which when based on the traidtional model cant use FSAA, Bioshock for example. Sony is the first to have fixed that issue, Im sure people at MS are working on their own solution as well, however itll probably require extra CPU time vs using the free system.

Well this is a wrong forum 360 has a huge amount of game that has AA in it except few like Bioshock and Halo3 but other than that most of games have AA even when the PS3 version doesnt supports AA in them.

I dont even see the point of using it. I play games on my HDTV and dont really notice a whole lot of jaggies. Ive tried seeing the difference on pc games too. Usually i have to watch pretty closely to see the difference.

He never said "just", it was simply a question as to why the games don't seem to have it.

Yeah when you play game at 1080p upscaled they dont seem to bother, Bioshock didnt had a lot of jaggies when I played it on 32" 720p TV. While Halo 3 had some Aialising but when I upscaled it to 1080p it was really smooth in polygons.

But as for 360 and PC similar game GPU based AA is good. Also the latest Nvidia and ATi cards both support good qaulity AA yu can edit them from outside the game.
