Not everyone has an HDTV and most of those can't afford one. I'm perfectly fine with my SDTV at the moment, and don't plan on changing for a while.
Maybe they dotn know how the equiptment they spent all that money on actually works, I have encountered this alot. Set it up for them providing they have the right cables, if they dont force them to buying them :P. If they do not agree the difference if astonishing cut out their eyes and sell them on the black market, they dont deserves them...

I had a friend plug his 360 into his HDTV with the composite video cable when he had the component HD wires that came with the 360. I had to slap him and set up his system properly. Later on I bought him a HDMI cable from ebay and installed that... he couldn't believe that he had been using SD on his HDTV for so long.
*sigh*
Full HD TV + HDMI cable ftw. I dont think its worth to have a xbox 360 and a crap tv.

It doesn't look bad on SDTV, it just doesn't look crisp and clean. If you're talking about playing in standard definition on an HDTV then I can understand that because the pixels gets really stretched out and sometimes it is very hard to see what is on screen.
I don't have an HD TV. Don't feel like spending money for a graphics upgrade, nothing else will use the HD TV, though it does look nice on a HD TV.Next-Gen-TecI think the TC was more referring to people who have HDTVs but don't use HDMI cables... which I see alot. It's sort of a total waste. Off topic, however... I find it a little ironic that your username is "Next-Gen-Tec" but your playing an Xbox 360 on an SDTV. That's not supposed to be an insult or anything, alot of people haven't upgraded, because not only is the TV a ton of money, but then you have to upgrade to HD reciever for sattelite or cable, pay more for HD television service, uprgrade you DVD payer to an upscaler or Blu-ray player. It's a huge investment, and this isn't the economic climate in which one spends all that money on a television. I just thought it was funny.

Heh, funny thing about these economic times is people are spending big bucks on televisions these days. They are selling more than before because now they can stay at home and avoidy taking the family out to eat.

Well yes since the Xbox 360 upconverts to 1080p via HDMI.
Because despite what many people would have you belive, it is not that big a deal. The substance of the game itself is what TRULY matters.Everytime I got to someones house that has a 360 and a hdtv they have it set on 480p and stretched out. I thought once you went hd you would never go back.

Dumbest thing Ive read today. As a matter of fact one of the 360 SKUs doesnt even come with hd cables. Was the PS2/Xbox not worth it if you had a crap tv?Full HD TV + HDMI cable ftw. I dont think its worth to have a xbox 360 and a crap tv.

This is the strangest thread ever... lol...
how do you know MOST 360 owners do or don't play in HD?
any way. i don't, and it's mainly due to the cost. i don't want an HD TV just for 360. if i had two grand to spend on a home cinema equipment, i'd defo buy into it. thing is, I, like most others at the moment, just don't have that kinda cash just lying around. and if they do, they certainly don't have kids and/or a family to support. I'd love to play RESI 5 in HD. but, untill the cost comes down or my pub(I'm a pub landlord)starts making more money, i'm not getting HD.
though, on the flip side, i will be investing in HD projection for my pub over the next 12 months. hopefully before the world cup starts, as i see it as a draw for extra business. although, that really depends weather or not my punters will even give a **** if i got got it! lol
and i might even get a HD projection TV for myself at some point as it's vastly cheaper than a plasma or LCD set. but give equal if not better performance. plus i can make the screen as big as i want it, up to 200"(so i've read!?)
besides.isn't3D tv just around the corner!?

It is. We already have the technology in our homes with PCs. Nvidia has 3D for the computer, and 3D television isn't far behind. I suspect that the next generation will be 3D.
i play in all its 1080p glory. ps3 also. also yes its true, once you go HD there is no going back....Everytime I got to someones house that has a 360 and a hdtv they have it set on 480p and stretched out. I thought once you went hd you would never go back.
