Pretty sad IMO. Makes me really wonder what they could do with the console if they tried hard enough...

It's the best looking game on the Xbox? Have you ever played Gears of War 2? Borderlands? Left 4 Dead? Sure, they weren't the most technologically advanced games in terms of graphics, but they had style.
Left 4 Dead has so many tiny details, everywhere, simply everywhere. If you really stopped and looked at every single thing in every map you would be astounded. The same thing can be said about The Orange Box, Bioshock, Dead Space, etc...
Borderlands is one of the first serious game to come out on the Xbox with Cell Shading, and it shines out, the art style, the characters, the environment.
All of these games stand out because of their art style, they don't have to be the most realistic looking game on the market.
because it was a sidescroller that only had one viewpoint. Unlike like most games, shadow complex only had one angle thus a lot more time and gaming power could be devoted to that limited surface areaPretty sad IMO. and if you looked at my gamertag you would have seen I have played them all. I am saying, details or whatever aside.Gears of war to is jaggedy as all hell. left 4 dead is fun, and that's why the game sold. Bioshock and dead space looks decent, but they skimp out by using the color black way too much. I am not bashing any other games in terms of fun, or gameplay. I am just saying, IMHO shadow complex is the best looking game on the xbox 360. Followed by forza 3, and borderlands.

I agree. they could do many things with the console if they really tried.
For example...I use my console to play games while others use it as a foot stool.
You must not being playing on an HDTV because Shadow Complex is not one of the best looking games. Maybe one of the best looking XBLA games but definitely not retail.

It's the best looking game on the Xbox?
TC never said it is the best looking game on the 360. He said one of the best looking games. IMO, the game looks good, probably the best graphics for an XBLA title but (IMO) it doesn't make it to the list of the best looking games on the 360. I just wish MS would put some more money and time to get 360 exclusive graphic engines to bring out the best out of the 360.

Tales of Vesperia, Assassin's creed, CoD 4:MW and I can continue much longer....
Tales of Vesperia is a great example that surpasses shadow complex in terms of graphics.
I'd have to say that Viva Pinata and Banjo Kazooie Nuts and bolts surpasses it as well with all their amazing colors and detail.

Then you might consider looking into getting the best glasses available to American consumers because Shadow Complex is not the best looking game on the Xbox 360.Why is it sad? It's the Unreal engine being used by Epic, it should look decent. You probably think that just because it's an arcade game, that it shouldn't look as good as console games because of the data limitations. The thing about the Unreal engine is that it can "fake" high poly counts and quality textures by relying mainly on various shaders/lighting simulations instead. The beauty of just relying on bump maps, specular maps etc... is that it doesn't require nearly as much memory as it would if you were going to use more polys and high-res textures.
Also, this was an engine that was already built. Many developers are given a time-frame to develop a game (usually 2-3 years) which includes them creating a graphics engine.

Totally agree! Shadow Complex wouldn't even crack the top 50 best looking games on the 360. Opinion or not, you're wrong. Period.

Yeah as everyone says shadow complex is certainly not the best looking game on the 360 :S
And even if it were so what? why are so many people fixated on graphics being cutting edge, it worries be how people seem to be so superfisial about what makes a good game,,, I mean there have been SO MANY examples of games that are the most fun you'll ever have in your life and yet graphics are certainly not cutting edge.
I mean like ballad of gay tony is atually good example, its actually proving massively popular even after the short time since its release on XBL but after a year its graphics are certainly not cutting edge anymore, its still brilliant looking but still not as impressive as some of the games everyone here could mention.
Just cause its not pushing the console to its max potential doesnt mean its not good,,,,

Not really man. Shadow Complex isn't in my top favorite games or anything, just something I notice. Possibly I just really like the art style and physics, which makes my opinion biased. My favorite 360 games are Kameo, GOW, and Bioshock. Bioshock Is probably my #1 of all time. Been a while since I played that So my memory could be lost.
Its only the best looking Arcade game, there are retail games that look much better.
