Why is Kinect so gosh-darn expensive?

$150 is awfully steep. I bought my 360 Arcade console for the same price. No accessory/add-on should cost as much as the console itself. That's just ridiculous.

I wouldn't moan. Microsoft are actually losing money on each Kinect they sell. It would have been more expensive if they hadnt have removed components.

It's not the price of Kinect that bothers me it's the lack of great games for it.

Most of Kinect games are Mario party or Wii sports type games that while fun aren't going to entice me to hand over my money for a Kinect.

Maybe if they add some great Kinect games or can add it to other games without ruining them then I'll probably get one.

ME3, Ghost Recon, Forza4, All looking to use Kinect in a fresh way and While i always planned to get GR and ME3 i will now get Forza4 and give it a real chance to see how the kinect is used. (Not normally a racing fan)

In terms of Casual games, I'm loving Yoostar2 atm and its awesome when on the turps with mates and wanting to make dicks of yourselves.

its usually only $100. and a few games will eventually use it. but at this point its a luxury item add-on. Not that expensive, but not that usefull.
