Why is Moira Brown ripping me off?

I just started the game and stocked up on a bunch of stuff from the vault

So now I'm in Megaton trying to selling everything

The thing I don't get is - why is Moira offering me significantly less caps for items than what the value is?

I have lots of police batons and whatnot, worth between 20-30 - and she's only offering me like 7 caps for them?

She has 300 something caps in her inventory --- is it something to do with my low charisma???

I don't get it

is there anyway to actually receive the full value of items from merchants?

It most likely is because your Barter skill is so low. I haven't sold an item at full price yet, but I have realized that you get more money as your Barter skill increases. Hope that helps.

check how much dmage they have on them. you get a lesser value if your weapon took a lot of damage.so repair it and sell it

yeah Moira seems to only give me 50% of the set value

guess i gotta get my barter up

fully repair the item + good barter skill

the zombie in the bar gives me more for certain things than Moira
