Ive got it and have played the first episode, but I have been completely covered up with work and taking 3 4000 level classes this summer. Probably not the best Idea ever, but this fall it is going to be on! Only one class, then graduation. I'm going to be playing 2 sh!t tons worth of games :D

this
all of my friends bought Red Dead Redemption, not a single one got Alan Wake
Alan Wake is the kind of game you can play in 6 months or a years time and still get the exact same experience out of it, because its single player only,
but Red Dead has its multiplayer, and in order to get the most out of it, then you need to play while the online community is still strong,
which is why i think most people bought Red Dead first with the intention of going back and getting Alan Wake at some time in the future, thats certainly what i plan on doing anyway
Having a game release the same day as Rockstar's latest mammoth title is likely not a good way to get sales. Though in truth, when I picked up Alan Wake I was considering getting RDR, but it was sold out, so potentially AW could get helped that way sometimes. Besides the MP arguments people have laid out, AW just won't suit everyone's taste; it's a little "out there"
cant afford any new games right now...being 17 and not having a job, i cant afford anything right now
Well I wasn't planning on buying Alan Wake, at least not at launch, but I won myself a coppy (Allong with a custom painted Alan Wake Xbox, I might add :D) and I loved it. I've been trying to get my friends to play it but everyone I know is obsessed with Red Dead at the minuet, which strangely I don't really care much about lol.

there are pics on his profile, looks pretty cool
I've played through it twice now, and will probably go back later and play through on nightmare. It's a great game, one of the few that I've bought at launch this year.
I ended up buying Alan Wake after trading in games and it can be completed within 10 hours at the most. Thankfully my nephews got RDR and completed it already so just going to do a swap with him for a while :) I haven't got XBL hooked up yet so MP doesn't bother me but I can see where people's arguements are coming from. Narcadox - I want to see your xbox! Paramore289
The pics of my Xbox are on my profile but heres the direct links -->Side, Front, Other Side, Mobile phone pic's don't really do it justice tbh lol. It's much nicer looking in person.
I'm planning on doing this as well, Already gone through it on Normal, just going to lend it to my nephew while I get a shot of RDR for a while from him and then play through it again, hopefully understand more of the story and collect everything on a save file *fingers crossed* Until then I'm just playing through Dead Rising before the new release comes out in September *YAY!*I've played through it twice now, and will probably go back later and play through on nightmare. that is ......amazing.
trade:|
I had it on preorder, picked it up on release day - completed it in a week. I had mixed thoughts; fantastic story, very well produced characters, but a fairly short story (so far) which left me deflated. I'm glad they're doing story related DLC, but I was hoping this would be a 20hrs+ game like Half life 2 or something. Hopefully the DLC will add a few hours.
I recommend getting the Limited Edition.
Definitely not the best, it's a great game though, but it does feel like it could have been so much more to it. I wish there was more guns and better puzzles..and ultimately the ending was a joke. I'm not really interested in the DLC content either. The graphics were lacking as well..so all of these elements combined could lead to it not being interesting to many people.I thought it would be much more popular.I think it is great one of the best this gen

The story makes a lot more sense after the first play through. I wasn't lost the first time, but it was a little lacking in the story department, but once you understand what's going on and go back and watch the TV shows, read the manuscripts, etc on the second play though it makes a lot more sense. I played the second time just trying to take in all the sights, piece together the whole story, and find all thecollectibles (still missing 2 thermos, dang it).

The lighting effects are some of the best this gen, graphics are amazing in HD.Like some others have already said it came out the same day as Red Dead Redemption which undoubtedly hurt it's sales. I bought RDR, Alan Wake, and Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands and I've hardly played the other two even though I liked what I've played of them so far. Red Dead is just hard to put down.
I think the games sales got shadowed over by RDR. I definetly want to play game but I think I'd rent it or get when it's cheaper.
ah conviction beat it last night superb game, oh and i already ordered alan wakeStill playing SC conviction...ALan Wake will probably be my next game

I blew through it pretty quick because I loved it so much. I will probably play through it again in a few months. I had one of my freinds try it out and I noticed tons of things I had not noticed before because I already new what was going on. Plot links and what not. So before the download content comes out I will play through it again so I am all fresh!
