Why havnt I heard anything about the new Prince of Persia, I mean theres no hype! Am I the only one wanting it or what? All Ive heard is the gears fanboys saying GEARS-GOTY! blah blah blah. I know theres alot of good games comming out this holiday season and I think this includes Prince of Persia. I think this game will be something freash to play.(I love FPS but enoughs enough) A freash twist in the graphics department going with "illustrative" and the new combat system loks awesome....and then theres Elika. Why no love? Is it just me or do you feel theres no attention to this game?

Plus it's being buried under all the Fable 2, Gears 2, Fallout 3, and Farcry 2 hype.

Don't worry wait till Gears of War 2 is out. Then we will hear all the hype for Price of Persia, Banjo Kazooie, and Last Remnant. However I think PoP is the only one guarantied to be AAA of those three.

It's hyped. I see plenty of people wanting it. Just because it's not the number 1 hyped game does not mean it's not getting any love.

There is something about the lack of a gameover screen that really bothers me. I enjoyed the series on the ps2... I just don't like the direction there going with it.

I can't wait for it. The new graphics are pretty sweet, and the AI partner seems to actually do something for a change.

I don't like how they've changed it. I mean, for everything that is good, why a cartoon style?! Why not the same style as in Two Thrones?

Guys, it's not the graphics that count, it's the gameplay, it's The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker all over again.

They are going with a new style for a couple of reasons. First they know Gamespot, IGN, and all the other companies with give them a mediocre score and say it's more of the same if they don't change it up a bit. Not to mentionthe avid fans who follow games will tear it apart and won't touch it either; apparently only Sonic games can get away with churning out fodder.

The reason why they are going with the new look, my opinion, despite their valiant effort in the Two Thrones the stench of Warrior Within still lingers over the franchise as a whole. They are trying to distance themselves from prince who sounds like a chain-smoking, pissed off, prat. Cell-shading is a, under-appreciated, good start.

Graphics are a large part of immersion. Immersion makes the game better.

I know that, but people are complaining about the change in the graphics from realism to cell-shading.

If I remember correctly, even the last generation Prince of Persia games were typically overlooked because they were released during the holiday season when people were concentrating more on the huge releases. PoP developed kind of a cult following because of the loyal following it developed despite consistently being a trilogy of sleeper "hits." I don't think Gears of War 2 will be game of the year, but the new Prince of Persia will likely get lost under the wave of huge releases (Fable 2, Guitar Hero World Tour, Fallout 3, Gears of War 2, and Call of Duty World at War are at the head of a rather beefy pack). This iteration of Prince of Persia will be in the last week of big releases before the holidays (December 2), and I'm not sure how that will effect sales. I could benefit from being further from the last few big releases, or it could get damaged by being to close to the holidays. Either way, I think it will get lost. Now my opinion: I don't like the restyle at all. Assassin's Creed is supposed to replace the PoP series this generation as Ubisoft's only realistic action adventure game while the PoP series gets the shaft. I would prefer a continuation of the last generations PoP series style, and considering how awesome AC was I think PoP in that format would be killer. I'll probably play the game at some point, only because it's PoP, but I'm not rushing out to get it.

I'm not hyped for it personally because I don't want to buy a game which looks so much worse than it's old generation counter-parts.

the developer of PoP said on talking about AC.. "They can have thier game, and we will have ours." he also mentioned a possible sequel to AC.saying they both have thier respected positions.

But I'm holding my money on this one, I won't comment until reviews come, the game looks great, but I have a lot of questions unanswered...

I'll tell you why all the hate (even though I feel that it's a franchise that is more adored then hated; nor do I hate it myself really).I played two editions of the Price of Persia before and began to feel the franchise wearing thin. Those were the Sand of Time (which was a charming story with what seemed to be amazing game play at the time) and the Warrior Within (which unfortunately took the franchise in a dark direction that made you think, "Why the **** must ever game have such extreme marketing?". I suppose the most logical explain for this is that it was an attempt on Ubisoft's part to attract more mature gamers in hopes that they would sell more games(an idea so prominent in gaming today).

On top of it all, the gimmick of reversing time grew kind of boring in the second game having competed Sands. There are so many games out on the market today that allow you to play with time (while maybe not reversing time; no one can deny the inclusion of bullet time in games likeMax Payne, FEAR, and even asfar back as the second Spyro game). The fight system of the game isn't as nearly as complex as let's say a God Of War (although comparing them is kind of unfair) and even when I heard you play as multiple characters in the 3rd game(Which obviously means more fighting **** in the game) I didn't feel like spending money on it. I felt like I had experienced most of what the franchise had to offer.
