[QUOTE="edwise18"]Because a lot of the time the demos come out after the actual game is released. Which is pretty stupid in my opinion.lawlessx
do you know how much work and time it takes to actually make a demo before releasing the game?
how much time and work does it take?

think of it this way. they would have to stop all work on the game to create the demo..something not all developers have the time to do. i use to think it was a simple task for developers..untill i saw the making of forza2 and saw just how much crap needs to be delt with in making a single demo

Why would they get everyone to stop working on the full game to make the demo? Couldnt just a few people take 1 little part of a level and add some "Demo" things to it?

that processs is done much smoothly when the game is just about to be released, not while it's still mid in development. forza2 had a crap load of bugs that still needed to be worked on while the team needed to get a demo ready for X06..that caused the entire team to slow down and try and fix all the issues that were in demo had before the big event. it all just sounds very easy, but it appears from a developers standpoint to be just more work. R* said no to a demo of GTA4 just so they can focus on releasing a great game.

So your telling me that they couldn't take 1 guy or hire 1 guy and force him to make a demo? You also make ti sound like they creaste a whole new level for a demo........... most demos are taken from within the game itself to make things quicker and easier.

yes..correct. from the game itself. while the game could have issues that they haven't ironed out or even noticed yet. and no it took alot of time and more then 1 guy to get the demo together.
again im really just talking about the developers of forza2 here...they're method of doing things might be different for other developers.

To help your case out, when Epic was making GoW Microsoft approached them 'n told them to make a demo. Epic gave MS a ultimatum. Have GoW out by the end of the year, or make a demo. It does actually take a lot of work to make games/demos.. Even if they use parts of the actual game for the demo, I'm assuming you've never done any coding. If you have you'd know that it is much harder then copy/pasting a few lines of code. Plus like it has been mentioned before, demos that are put out before the game is done/ships typically have bugs and glitches/issues. That means that the company has to put workers working on the actual game to stop and work out the bugs in the demo. Goes te same for testers. Not all companies have tons of money and time to do that.. Ubisoft might, but seriously, if you liked RSV you'll like the second one. If you hated it, RSV2 won't change your mind.
