Is there a backstory or a reasone why Bungie decided to make Halo 3 released on September 25th?Honestly i dont care when its released but now they have around 4 Months to finish this game.So they have to Poilsh the Graphics test for Glitces,Cheating,And alot more things. This will be very very close..But they will pull it off.But im still curious in why they choosed September?Anyone know?

not sure about there choice... but having all the finer details of the game all polished up shouldn't be much of a problem when it ccomes to releasing the game soon.  any game nowadays on consoles can get patched up if there is something wrong.  so long as the content is there (which it seems to be; "hackers" have found a host of features that multiplayer will have... and Bungie has been talking for months about how they are working hard to make SP amazing), any glitches in game game can be fixed via downloads.

well if games come out that are extremely badly glitched, players will lose interest in the game right from the start... leading to terrible sales.

but if its something that is very minor (like dead bodies disappear very abruptly sometimes), then i don't see the problem.  if the glitch is known by the dev team before the game is released, they will probably fix the problem inbetween the time the game goes gold to when it is released in stores to make a patch for it.. making it so that you will have the patch on your system before you even get to play the game for the first time.

frankly I dont care when it comes out. as long as they release it on time, and it's good, not full of glitches and cheaters, than all that time was well worth it. just my opinion

This is a very horrible idea, first off in november is the holiday season everybody will be buying games then and halo 3 will take away most those sales of other games. unless bungie is be courtiess and letting masseffect get some good sales.

So they don't directly have to compete with GTA4. And as for the game being finished in time.... it's probably done already.

Theres too much coming out this holiday season to release Halo 3 in November.  As long as the game is 100% done Im fine with a September release.

I'm suprised no one else has stated it, but it's to help the number of sales of 360 hardware.  The game will sell over the holiday like crazy, whether it comes out in september or november.  However, Halo is a system seller series, so why not release the game in september to get great system sales then from Halo 3, and then still have systems selling over the holidays since.. well, since it's the holidays.  Not only that, but then software sales would hopefully be up as well since all those people who bot 360's for Halo will want to boost there collection of games over the holidays.
Not only that, but since Halo 3 will be shifting systems off the shelves, by releasing it in september they can avoid any PS3 system sellers so that they're system selling game doesn't have to compete against a PS3 system seller, and again that would hopefully result in more 360's heading off the shelf.
The whole decision to me is a sales push for systems, not the game, the game will sell regardless on when it's released.

Go read Bungie's latest update Halo 3 has all features are in, Single player, multiplayer, everything. And now it's just a matter of polish and bug fixes, that can be done in 4 months, and also because it's near my birthday :D.

As of now Xbox 360 could have one of the strongest holiday line-ups if Bioshock, Mass Effect, Timeshift, Lost Oddysy (and other games) come out in Nov. Putting Halo 3 into that would decrease sales from some big titles. Now putting it out in Sept will 1. Give people a chance to have money (during the christmas holiday they may not have the money to buy all the games they want) 2. Allows people to pick up Halo 3 and another game they wanted because they are able to save money or what not.

Now think... say MGS4 was to come out in Nov and Halo 3 would. People would be divided (if they wanted both) and would decrease sales from either Halo or MGS. Realesing Halo 3 before MGS4 would ease up on the division and perhaps even make some people not even buy MGS.

Oh and plus if they delay it, they can delay it to Nov.

This what im thinking. Halo 3 is a system seller so more 360's will be out during the holiday season which could help out mass effect, lost Odyssey, and too human.

I thought the same thing,They might delay it to November. But big commerical places have announced that it will come out September 25th Even MTV mentioned it,And on the 360 Dashboard even made a new icon in the "Xbox Live Bar Section" saying Comeing to you 9/25/07 why would they commericalize so much if there just going to delay it?But i still agree with you,There is a chance they might delay it to November. As Bungie is known for Delaying so much so it will be no suprize if they do.

It is for marketing reasons. Milons of fans will be getting halo 3 on the 25th millions will have to wait to get theres. Once a kid starts crying for halo 3, it will be November when the parent can go into a store and just pick one up. Now when they go to pick one up they will see the xbox 360 eltite or other cool stuff for the 360. O my kid will love this, $$.

I personaly dont care if it takes another 12 Months for this game to come out,I just want Halo 3 with barely no Glitches ( Besides the cool ones that pepole do in Custome Games ) and The Best Banning system for Moders and Bridgers.Im still really excited that its basicly in are hands in September but i would like a Finished game and not a rushed game with glitches and hacks and then Bungie will say "Update will come soon" and in reality it takes 3 weeks.
