When I looked ahead at the next two months, I realize that there are only two games coming out that is on my must get list. Too Human and Mercenaries 2, both coming out in August mind you. Which means to me a boring summer of gaming. Now I could play some older games but there's hardly any game out there that I haven't played yet that I would want to get. Then I looked ahead to the Sept to Nov releases and noticed a whopping 8 games that I want to get my hands on. They include LEGO Batman, Infinite Undiscovery (finally a Square Enix game for the 360), Silent Hill: Homecoming, Fable 2, Fallout 3, Saints Row 2, Gears of War 2, Call of Duty: World at War. All of these games in a span of 3 months and I that's when I came to the conclusion that I am going to one poor dude come Dec and that means nobody better expect any Xmas presents from me this year. Unless you want a two liter soda of your choice for Xmas cause that's all i will be able to afford as presents. Now my question is why can't they release some of this games during the summer and I am not going to accept the old holiday season releases as an excuse because most of these games if not all will sell no matter what time of the year they are released. C'mon I don't want a lame gaming summer.

I never really knew why, buts its always been that way. Maybe since a lot of game previews are displayed at E3 so they save the games until after then.

I don't know, ask the developers. Seriously though, it's probably because they want to showcase the games at E3.

Yeah most games come out during the rush of Christmas presents. I wished more games came out during the summer. But it always ends up being around November. That seems to be the biggest months of games releasing.

Yeah, summer all the free time, no good games. School comes along, excellent games release and BAM! Riddled with homework, exams, etc. Damn developers and their inability to release games earlier. :P

Well since there is such a rush of games around the holidays you could skip out on a few of the ones you want and buy them during the following summer for a likely discounted price. It would save you money and spread your gaming out over the entire year.

Summer usually has no games to offer, but this is the first year it actually has a variety of games to appeal to different fans, for once. BF: BC, Alone in the Dark, Soul Calibur, and a lot more.

I agree, you should definitely just wait till next summer and buy the games for much cheaper. You'll save a lot of money and also spread your gaming throughout the year. I just bought Condemned 1, Crackdown, DEAD RISING, and the godfather all for like 12.99 each used. Ya just gotta be able to hold out until the price goes down, but it's well worth the wait, especially if you're on a tight budget like me.
