Am really having a hard time with all this talk about "ring of death", about "backwards compability", about "BLUE RAY" and another XBOX360 coming out again...for a THIRD time!! Am totally confused, am just feed-up with all the B.S. and flame going from one place to the other...FOR ONCE AND FOR ALL, and i really would like an HONEST to your heart answer, which one would you pick...XBOX 360 or PS3?? and why??

Am really looking forward to buying one, but the only problem is to many in-between stuff, that makes the thin line 20 times thinner! HELP!

Well the RROD has pretty much been dealt with since all of the new 360's sport the falcon chips. Backwards compatibility is also good. And my last point and probably the most important. GAMES. The 360 just plain has a better selection of games IMO.

Sure if you want HD movies right out of the box it makes sense but it doesnt do much to inhance the gaming experience. And my last point and probably the most important. GAMES. As a PS2 fan, I picked the 360 soley because of the games available. Backward compatability was never a problem for me because I owned no Xbox games. I've had my 360 for about 18 months and have never had a problem. Honestly, I can't think of any PS3 games I want that I can't get on the 360. So I would make your decision based on the games you wish to play.

Ok well its your choice and we can't make it for you, I have both for instance I'll try to be as neutral as possible.

Xbox 360

Cons

-Online is not free

-Consol breaks down easier (MS will repair it free of charge)

-No built in Wifi (Need to buy an attachment)

-Huge power brick

-Fan is loud

-Charge for accesories which should have been included

PS3

Pro's

-Free online

-Expanding game liberay

-Runs quite and cool

-Has blu-ray player

-Built in Wifi

-Media Card slots (Some do)

-Internet browser (isn't the best)

-Home

Cons

-Does not come with HD cabels

-Smaller online communtiy

-expanding gameslibrary

- Not everyone has a mic

-Lack of demos/ FPS's

-Store less flashy (will be improved)

-Controllersneed to be replaced when therechargeablebattery won't keep charge

Xbox 360 has (for now) better games. Xbox live, Xbox live arcade, Marketplace) owns PSN. And oddly enough, more Rpgs than PS3 (More than Ps3 and Wii combined, actually)!

I also believe that the RRoD is largely in the past. So besides Metal Gear Solid 4, PS3 won't have much that the 360 won't. (Final Fantasy 13 ain't coming to NA before 2010 anyway...)

360 for one reason only.

GAMES. The ps3 has some good games coming out soon but 360 has a huge back catalog that you can choose from.

PS3 does have Blu Ray but that not really an issue anymore with the price of players coming down.I still dont think they fixed the True HD audio output problem yet except with a HD Audio receiver with HDMI input.

Excatly, This is the reason i own over 50+ 360 games and like 12 Ps3 games, The only thing the Ps3 has over the 360 is that it has a BR in it, Wireless network features which is always good option to have and that i can play all my Ps1/Ps2 games on my 60 gig version.

The Br really is a good option, I dont care about that much now though, I own like 25-30 Br movies but i own the Hd-dvd attachment and when Hd-dvd went dead i got like 120 hddvds for $5 a pop.:D

X360 has the games I want to play. If you like the PS3's lineup then you should go for that. They are about equal in terms of performance, so it's really a personal preference, the PS3 only has a couple of games I would like to play, but for the moment it doesn't have any games I really want to play, that will change soon with MGS4 and FF13, but I still don't think that it's worth it to buy a console for only two games.

I dont think ill have time to watch them all though, I watched a few, I watched the entire first season of Heroes from 10am in the morning to 6am in the morning on the next day then i had to be at work at 10 oclock and then go to the gym after work, I couldnt stop watching it!, Then i watched the second season and most of it in one sitting, Cant wait for season 3, I think ill slowly get through them but my collection has made my Br buying pointless at their price.

Well it has my taste of games, WRPGS and online multiplayer games. When those two genres are strong on a console, i'd go straight for it.

It also depends on your economy, a good example:

I bought my Xbox 360 premium (without HMDI port) with the forza 2 and viva pinata + Gears of war and gave 2400kr (480$)

a friend of mine bought a ps3 with uncharted, NFS:prostreet and GT:prologue and gave 3900kr (780$)

so the ps3 is more expensive, and atleast IMO have less interesting games to come with it.

The xbox has AT THE MOMENT more interesting exclusives like Halo 3, Gears of war, Bioshock, forza 2, mass effect, Lost odyssey.

The ps3 IMO only has uncharted and ratchet and clank that's interesting, (At the moment though)

The ps3 does have some good games coming though (Final fantasy, Metal gear, Gran turismo ect)

so if you can wait a little while longer better games will be coming for the ps3.

another thing is that the xbox has a huge libary and got everything what you want, be it role playing, fps strategic or racing it have it all.

so dont think your missing out if your going that way ;)

Well, from the way you type you don't sound like the type of person that would own a 1080p 50" LCD HDTV, so Blu-Ray really doesn't matter to you...

Better, and more games.

Better graphics for third party games

The fantastic multimedia abilities (to be fair, I don't know if the PS3 can play music while playing games, but I LOVE that feature)

MSN + Xbox? Hell yeah. I love MSN, especially in Search in Destroy and similiar after I die. Passes time.

Better controller

Xbox Live is fantastic

Standardized features (I thought it was a joke when someone told me the mic doesn't work with all PS3 games. I couldn't live like that. With the 360, all games have all the same basic features and it's really fantastic.)

And a general dislike for Sony.

Oh, and the price.

Biggest thing was the price was so huge. Plus i dislike the controller so much and everyone i know has an xbox 360. I'll probably eventually buy a ps3 just for rpgs(exclusive ones) after it gets cheaper.

Best backward compatiblity with almost all games being backward compatible now

Xbox live

The controller

but mostly because of the games. 360 has tons of exclusives that I just need to have. There is always a chance of PROD but it's either that or no good exclusives as all (for me that is). I love WRPG and Mass Effect, Fable 2 and Sacred 2 are must buys for me. Not to mention 360 also has every important multiplatform WRPG and will get the sequels to Mass Effect and others.
