Really why ? What does that number mean ?

Oh i guess my thorey was wrong, i thought it had 360 bits thats why the graphics where soo good and they just decided to put in the name. i thought it was like the nintendo 64 (64bits)
I always thought that circles were the inspiration for the XBox360 and seriously, about everything is round on this thing, even the bottom of the Box is rounded xD
What I remember from E3 a few years back, they named it the Xbox 360 because at the time Wii was still codenamed Nintendo Revolution and Sony had the Playstation 3. Microsoft didn't want the Xbox 2 going against the Playstation 3 because people would naturally consider the Xbox 2 inferior. So they needed to stay on the same level with the masses, and since the Revolution was a major mystery at the time, Microsoft also wanted to capitalize on that and give their system a name that encompass everything that the coming generation had to offer. Was that a joke? Or did you mean it as in it can also process 64-bit games?... What is it anyway? 256-bit? I remember PS2 being 128-bit...Hotwire246no i mean they might have named it after the bits nintendo 64 had 64 BITS so maybe the xbox had 360 BITS. it makes sense
