Mine kinda adapted to standing up. Its always been like that.  I had it lay down for awhile and it foze up like 3 times trying to load tiger woods.

Mine works fine both ways, but I keep it Horizontal all the time.

should be fine both ways.

I keep mine horizontal just because it almost fell once being vertical.

Horizontal... For I dare no move it, even when the power is off and its unplugged. It is far too risky a task!

Mine works perfectly both ways. i have mine horizontaly just bc where i put it and plus i have 2 dogs and 3 ferrots that like to climb around in my tv stand.

I keep it horizontal as my wee sister gave me a visit one day and bumped into the xbox.  When i removed the disk to try and work out why my game wasn't working anymore I saw there was a burn mark on it. 

So i alway keep in horizontal just to be on the safe side.

Mine is always horizontal too, it is the only way it will fit in my entertainment center.

And that would be a complete myth. It will run hot if you don't have it in a place where it can cool itself. Period. Vertical, horizontal, upside down or hanging from the celing. It doesn't matter where you put it or how you put it, if there isn't any airflow around it the damn thing is going to overheat.

it shouldnt matter which way you stand your 360..horizontal or vertical it should work fine. when i firstgot my 360 i had it layign horizontal but now i just moved to putting it up vertical i like the way it looks and it dosent take up as much space in my room.

How can it trip over a wireless controllet ;) I keep mine vertical, since theres TONS of room for it to breath vertically, and that way I can also put my controllers beside it, instead of in a drawer.
