Crysis has already been confirmed to be PC exclusive. chandlerr_360
Just like Halo was, too, yeah? lol If Microsoft has their hands in Crysis in any way I have a feeling we will see it on 360 someday. Regardless, I guess I better get my PC up to spec. I have a 7800GT, a 4400+, and 2GB of RAM. Trying to figure out if MY PC will blow-up if it thinks about Crysis, too.
if crysis were to be ported to the 360, it'd be like when valve ported half life 2 to the original xbox, it'd be stripped down of most of its flashy graphicsKGB32Exactly the 360 could not even run it on mid settings.

Not entirely true. Crysis runs in both DirectX 10 mode and DirectX 9 mode. The 360 could handle the DirectX 9 port, not the DirectX 10. If it were ever ported to the 360, it would just look like the low-end PC version.
Trust me, I LOVE the 360, but it couldn't touch Crysis. It would blow up if it even thought about it. That's why I also have a top-end gaming rig. The 360 is an amazing machine but Crysis is in a whole different league tech-wise. Witht that, it doesn't mean the game is good either.Thrillhouse
lol!! i love it when people talk with confidence about these things. like a guy in a movie saying how clever he is while there is a monster right behind him thinking how its gonna eat him and chew him and stuff... coff coff coffAlan wake! coff gow.. coff coff UT 3... Anyway besides the fact that it wouldnt look the same on a 360 as it would on a 5000 dollar pc with a few tweaks and downgrades it would run just fine. but ill take all of the aforementioned games over a game which essentially banks everythin on how pretty and bendy the leaves look....g-y
Nope, it cant be played on 360s graphic card first of all or it wouldnt look as good due to the fact u need like an 800-900$ graphic card to run it

Thats funny considering most of the footage been shown has been in DX9 mode, and footage near that start where it still looked amazing was running on 7950GT's which arent $900........Xbox 360 has a well made ATI graphics card equivalent of a Med-High PC GPU, Crysis is possible in DX9 mode, it just wont happen. Wish people would start talking sense in this thread.
Just curious. I'm sure a 360 could run the hell out of it. I'd much rather play it on my Xbox then my aging PC, too. Any rumors floating around out there?WALLIX
it says pc exclusive.....but i have a gameinformer magazine were it shows a preview of it and it said pc/ps3/xbox360....so i mean maybe down the road. console gamers can dream i know i am.
GameSpot users are blissful and blind. Please, don't give me this "360 can't handle it" BS... Don't listen to everything the developers tell you, if you do you are just easily convinced. Believe me, hardware wise the 360 is more than enough to handle a game like Crysis at least on Full DX9 specs, they could easily achieve it with optimizing. The reason that Crysis isn't on consoles or hasn't been confirmed yet doesn't have anything to do with the game being "too much" for a 360 or PS3, it's more about marketing, planning and strategy. I mean think about it... If the Cryengine 2 engine can scale back to 3 year old hardware, and the Xbox 360 hardware being relatively new and pertty powerful, you would expect amazing developers like Crytech to be able to port it to the 360 successfully with more than enough of the graphical elements intact. You will see it on consoles eventually, and vice versa with those 360 exclusives.

Are you serious? What I've seen so far doesn't make it look that amazing as you make it out to be.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. According to this article (below) Crysis could very well be run on a 360. ATI even makes it sound like even most of the DX10 features could easily be replicated on a 360. Microsoft isn't stupid. There in this to make money - lots of it. I don't care if it's been labeled, "PC Exclusive" or not. That doesn't mean jack squat in the world of marketing. Crysis and, "PC Exlcusive" is just a marketing-means to push the ailing Vista out the door. I'll bet you dollars to donuts we will see Crysis on the 360. Maybe not this year, but soon after.
I seriously doubt MS is going to want to throw away what would easly be hundreds of thousands in sales on the 360.

For all those people who think the 360's processor/video card is not possible to run Crysis ----- lol
Now, Crytek have stated the only problem is the 360's ram, the 360 only has 512MB of ram (lol) and they are having problems with the streaming technology used in the Cry Engine 2 for Crysis to beable to run properly on the 360 : )
The 360 might struggle with Crysis not because its CPU and GPU are weak (they are actually quite powerful) but due to the constraints of 512mb of memory. Still I wouldn't be surprised to see a somewhat stripped down port in the future. There's no reason the 360 couldn't handle the DX9 version with a bit of tweaking.
