Will it?For me, i think so.

Well in a way, yes.
But thats not saying much, really. On the 360, Forza 3 will have little competition. Most people seem to think Shift fits somewhere between PGR and Forza 2 as far as gameplay goes. Its not a 'direct' competitor, if you get what I'm saying. Kinda like how Halo 3 and Gears of War are both shooters, but different types of shooters.
Either way, Forza 3 is probably going to be a step above pretty much any racer out there, bar Gran Turismo 5. Its gonna be something else, I'm tellin ya.
On this console I would think so yeh. Don't forget Gran Turismo on PS3. I haven't heard of any more Project Gothams being in the works, so I'm counting them out for the moment.
grand tourismo is only racing game that technically is compition for forza 3, every other racer ive seen on xbox has put to many arcadey elements in them for it to feel like they are compition for forza 3. maybe in terms of sales, but need for speed will always sell well up to a point anyways. but i cant think of any other racers which are in fact simulations, every other xbox racer at best is arcade with soem simulation elements, forza is more simulation but can have aracde elements if you turn all the difficulty and driving aids down or on respectivlydjrobst
There's RacePro, which actually has better physics than Forza 2, but its a very flawed game and doesn't compete with Forza in pretty much any other area.
nah mate forza been round for a while no doubt it will overtake NFS im a huge NFS fan but ive also experienced forza first hand and i love it both games are thrills but forza will be more updated now newer better then ever so id say the car fans will tear into the competitive gaming on forza id says all the gotham racing fans will come over to forza too NFS just makes to many titles just like guitar hero..MLG_STIFFLERplease for the sake of the other uses, use punctuation and dont run different ideas together. that parapgraph is relatively impossible to understand but on topic, i have pretty much forgotten NFS ever since forza was released on the xbox, god that was a good game
In the short term answer I think Shift could be seen as a contender up until Forza 3 is released. Long term I think it will struggle to even push Forza with a hopeful return from PGR and on the other machine GT5.
However from what I have seen of Shift I think moving it away from the street racing culture has done it a world of good.
Have even half the people commenting about shift sucking or being subpar even play it yet. I'm a huge racing fan and Shift is an awesome game so far. Best inteior view of any racing game i have ever played. Audio with a 5.1 surround is amazing. Yes i think Forza will be better but Shift is undoubtedly a great game.
Forza is better than shift in every single way except for 2.
Need for speed shift has a much cleaner, beautiful cockpit view of all the cars (plus working shift/paddle shift animations for every car)
and at the begining of a race in need for speed shift you get time to rev your engine to the apropriate rpms before you have to go. Where in forza, theres a little cut scene of your car pulling up to the racing line and revving by itself, then its just like GO! and you havnt even revved the engine yet.
Both are amazing games, but i prefer forza, theres more to do, the cars are more customizable, the cars handling is much more realistic then NFS shift, AND there is an option to throw in a clutch into the manual transmission setting for even more realism/fun.
