Will GeoW die?

Well Im about to take the plunge and buy a 360 but I cant decide on the first game Im going to get, Im getting only one because I have to buy the wireless ethernet adapter and 12 month XBL Gold subscription and Im not made out of money...

Anyway back to the point I want a game that is a good ONLINE experience so I was thinking about getting GeoW, but with Halo 3 coming out just around the corner will anyone still be playing it? By the way I will of course be getting Halo 3, but I want a good game right now!!! Now I say! :twisted:

Any other suggestions you guys have for a good online game that is out right now, I already have Rainbow Six Vegas for the PS# (unfortunetly) so you can cross that off.

I appreciate any help on this.

Hmm, since you bring it up... How bad is it on Xbox Live? Are most players cool or are they little kids and a**holes?

Anyway Im open to any non-shooter online game for anyone else who wants to suggest something. :D

It depends on what you want. The online in Gears can be awesome if you like to play solo. If you want to play serious games with friends don't touch gears (unless of course you want to play co-op which is amazing). Epic decided to make it hard to game with frends in gears online (ranked). Even with H3 out Gears will still have people playing it.

Personally I would just wait for H3 at this point. Once it's out I doubt you will want to play anything else.

Its a great games if you other friends that play it. Every Live! game community is pretty much consistent of 13 year olds screaming their lungs out because they got killed, or a 20 year old virgin talking about 'how i'd tap that @ss'.

Halo 3 is gonna be a revolution as far as smack-talking goes...

gears of war is sweet imo, however if you got halo 3 on pre-order or planning on getting it day 1 (if you lucky enough) i would go with halo 3 cuz there are going to be millions playing it

also, like another user posted, COD 2 is awesome for online play

well vegas i HUGE on the 360. alot of ppl is playing that game rite now n i bet that alot of ppl would still be playing it... r6v is not like on the PS3 that no one plays it... if i were you i would trade my ps3 vegas game for a 360 copy at gamestop thats wut i did...

Save your money, don't buy the wireless adapter becase it is crap. Instead buy Gears AND Halo.ryanvl

I agree 110%....the adapter is garbage. It has a delay and lags online.....I got rid of mine in about a week.

Personally, I didn't care for GoW too much. The graphics were nice, yes, but the story wasn't that great, and in my opinion, the Live play is awful. For me, 4 vs 4 gets really old, really quickly. I was good at it, but I just didn't find it that entertaining.SilentFireX

Ya, Gears online im sure can be a love it or hate it thing.. i personally fell in love with it and played up until my 360 fried two months back, lol.

See, some people hate it for the 4 vs 4.. im one who thinks the 'big' games get old, theyre just huge gangs of people randomly shooting, while i loved the sneaking and suprise aspect of gears you get to employ constantly if you know what to look for and predict what people are gonna do.

Give gears a chance, if youre going to enjoy the type of gameplay it has, you might like it more than you would halo 3.

Only problem with Gears on the gameplay front is the fact that host advantage is disgusting in this game.. a skilled host can easily dominate a room, everyone else in the room has to play the game as if it were a naval battle, barely leading your targets, which leads to missed shots, while the hosts gun works as good as if he were playing split screen.
