Will installing games help my 360 from any hardware faults?

Will installing games onto my 360 help prevent RROD or any other hardware mess up?

Yes, less noise, less heat, less wear and tear on your disc drive.

It won't prevent the R.R.O.D or anything but it will make it a hell of a lot quieter when playing a game. I suppose it could help because the fan doesn't get used as heavily. Hope that helps :)

I am on my 4-5th 360 and have been using the installing aspect since it was available and haven't had any problems, no freeze ups, and it is so much more quiet then before. They should have just done this from the start. It is by no means a guarantee or anything but it at least gives you a chance not to have to send in your 360 for repair every 6 months.
