Will it ruin my 360 if I set it vertically?

I want to set mine vertically so it can fit better in the little space I have next to my t.v. in my room but I've heard rumors that it will scratch your disk to hell if it is set vertically and not horizontally.  Can someone tell me if this is true or not?  Or is it fine to set it up this way.

It's okay to have it either way as long as you don't move it while a disc is in it, even if the console is turned off.

Nope, having your 360 laying horizontally or verticly will do no harm. If it was harmfull, there wouldn't be those little rubber "holders" on the sides of the 360.

I have been through the same dillema as you, but i sit mine vertically after my friend told me he had his since launch vertically and he has had no problems. Also i find my 360 gets warmer faster on its side.

Yes, Microsoft have designed the console so it can either stand vertically or horizontally for your convenience.

I set mine vertical for a little bit and i got messages that the disc couldnt be read sometimes.  Horizontal, though, i've had no problems.
