Will Mass Effect be as good as Bioshock?

IMO, as of right now, Bioshock is the best game for the 360. Yeah it may not have multiplayer like Halo 3 does, but Bioshock is still a better game. Bioshock has a better story, is more deep, more complex, has better graphics, and overall is just superior to Halo 3. But Mass Effect looks like it will be an excellent game also, but I wonder how the constant pausing in battle will be....it might be really fun and strategic....or it might get annoying.

Opinions?

I have no doubt that Mass Effects non-combat sections will be incredible. Side stories, conversations, exploring, leveling up. The game will be huge. I am however extremely nervous that the gameplay is going to blow and I am going to spend all my time dreading combat. The only bearable part about KOTOR was melee and this game hasn't got any so meh...

Bioshock was all about combat, Mass Effect is more RPG.

bioshock imo was a great game. very good, yes, but if i were to make a list of my all-time favorites, it prob. would not make it.

anyway, the sheer scale of mass effect looks promising. it seems as it there will be hundreds of planets like in a real universe, where each will have a purpose, side quest. i hope the game has lots of variety. my only worry is the combat. it seems like i need to deal aka worry about so many things at one time, controlling EVERY aspect of my character and my two soldiers

IMO, right now and forever Bioshock is the most garbage game in the planet, I would not even play it for free or even for the achievements, personally.

Mass Effect, will be the best roll-play game for the console this year, propably next year as well, who knows.Alpha172

I agree with the TC, Bioshock is a work of art and one of the most impressive games I've played since the original Half-Life. from what I've seen of Mass Effect, I think it definitely looks extremely promising!

i agree with you. i think i liked bioshock more for the atmosphere and story, similar to games like Resident Evil 4 or half life 2. other games, cod4, are more about gameplay. i loved the whole art deco, 40/50s music, constant decay, and neon glow to the whole thing. thats what made the game really special to me. plasmids were cool. i like to use them but i love to explore the city and learn about these people and how they lived

Agree with Matt and Gruoch1 Bioshock is one of my favorite games. But for the TC's question as much as i love Bioshock I think Mass Effect will be even better.

Actually, they are kind of the same you know how they're both RPG/Shooter, but they are different styles.
