Poll Will Microsoft's XBox One servers hold up in great fashion for tomorrows world wide console release? (17 votes)
Ok so remember the whole cloud computing and 300,000 servers thing.
Well, tomorrow is going to be put up or shut up for the initial server strain test.
Now, Sony had day one perhaps day two lag and since then I think things have normalized. But, to be fair Sony didn't say they have 300,000 servers handling the system...
So, What do you think? Will XBox have any lag or server strain on day one?
Now, to me the stakes are high for XBox to come about this the right way. Why? Because if they go through the initial launch period without a single hiccup in respects to server strain and network lag time then I would say that is a major victory for Microsoft. And... And, it means the 300,000 server thing might have some teach to it.
Also, it is important to remember that what I am saying regarding 300k servers and the day one patch might not be really related to each other but in my humble opinion they do.
Again, if they are touting this whole cloud processing and computing thing then what a way to show competence then right out of the gate. Moreover, perhaps the public would start to believe that cloud computing might be a real and viable "thing" in the future.
If successful, and this is a big if, this could prove a crushing blow to Sony in the new console wars.
We shall see very soon.
