Well i just bought a broken xbox off of ebay for $45 and i was going to send it in to have it fixed or whatever, I go to take off the face plate and the xbox seal is broken so the guy who had this must have opened it and tried to fix it, but anyway will MS still fix the xbox if it has been opened?Dub_c6969
I think so, they will probably make you pay though. As far as I know, all opening the box does is void the warranty.

MMM thats what i was thinking ill give them a call today and just ask them and see what they say.Yeah it only voids the warranty, just pay and they'll fix it, in the end it's a good deal on ur part.
Edit: That vid was not funny to me, racial comedy can be funny if it's done well, that was not.
okay I know this for a fact. MS will NOT repair your xbox if it's been opened even if you pay. They will just return it to you and send it with a note saying that it's been tampered with and they will not repair it. So why would you buy a broken xbox on ebay? that's just silly.cinemax237Well i did not know the xbox was opened! i thought the thing just had the the ROD and the dude did not want it anymore, i did not know he tried to open it, guess i got played for a fool o well i will just try and resell it on ebay i guess.

...and the cyclical nature of unethical private gray market commerce continues. You should attempt to sell it on Amazon.com (rather than at auction) and note the condition of the unit, because there are many people who CAN repair a video game console without sending it back to the manufacturer, especially an MS console. It's probably that you wont recoup all your losses. Capital or ethics?

True, my personal console I bought in pieces for about $220USD, with a bad DVD drive, fixed it my self with no extra cost. Bought another one for $150 with RROD that I knew had been opened, and I fixed it my self. TC, I'll even buy that from you for that price if you're willing.EDIT; I don't see the video link in your sig, did 'that' happen? Also, you did get a 360 and not the original xbox, right?
