Ok, so my 360 has followed a complicated turn of events, and I was wondering what to do next. I bought it in December 2007, and it worked fine until two weeks ago. I had it in a cabinet, but had no RROD until recently. Then, it showed the 2 red rings. I tried to move it out into the open and let it cool for a couple of hours, but I was not able to play for more than 10 minutes at a timebefore the lights showed again. So, I bought a Nyko Intercooler, and this resolved the problem perfectly until yesterday. Then, it started to RROD again, with the intercooler on. It did not seem like the intercooler was blowing as much, and the console did not feel that hot. I did feel the spot where the intercooler had been seated, and it felt hot, probably because the intercooler didn't let air escape that opening while it was off. Right now, I have unplugged everything from the console (power cord and AV cable), and have also unplugged the power brick from everything. I plan on just leaving it like this until Friday. Will this fix the problem, and should I put the intercooler back on or will the console function okay without it?

Nyko intercooler, as in the one that plugs into the back of the 360? If so, that's the problem right there. Give it a day or two, DO NOT put the intercooler back on, and try playing the 360 in an open area. If it doesn't work, congrads, you killed it with the intercooler.

Its a tempsmart intercooler, so I don't think it would have damaged the console. I think that the problem is that leaving it on the console blocked the vent at the back. But, it did solve it for a while. Possibly heat just built up, and then now its happening?

might solve it for a while yes, but in the long run you will block out the ventilation wont you?

put your 360 in a small closed area where there's no ventilation, melt it and get rrod... then send it to warranty
