will my XBL lag

im gonna get an xbox and i wanna know if live will lag when im downloading stuff it usually gets 40-50kbs

my wii doesnt lag unless other people are using computer

im gonna use a wireless adapter if that means anything

well i wirelessly connect to live and i almost never lag. but when im downloading things on the computer i usually get a little but in general its fine

Well if your dl is only 50k then yes you will lag. I beleive the min speed for Live is 128k down.

Wait I see. you only get 50k when dl ing stuff. So you might be ok since that has a lot of factors that affect speed. The best thing would be to test your connection at speednet.net or something like it.

50k is definitely not enough. Dial up was 56k, so your download speed is similar to that, and it's explicitely mentioned that you need a broadband connection for Live and that dialup won't cut it.

He says when he's DOWNLOADING stuff h gets 40 to 50 kbs a sec, thats not a indication of bandwidth thats just whats available for the download, which could be affected by anything from his service provider to the server he's downloading content from (or the p2p if thats what he refers to) for all we know he could have an 10 meg connection for all we know off such limited information :S

Your best bet is, as someone previously stated, test it with a trial subscription, if it works then it works if it dont it dont

best bet will not to be d/l while playing online.
