There is a rumor that there might be. The only way I would truly like to see this is if it had a full size built in DVD drive and played all of the original Xbox games.

Like the Sega Nomad was to the Genesis. I know, I know those systems are Greek to most of you.

It would be cool though - just not as a seperate platform but as a compatible platform.

:)

i am not sure. While it could be a profitable business. I think M$ is still waiting to see how well the Zune does.

Personally, my opinion is NO, we dont need portable RROD. M$ is a software company (hence the word SOFT in their company name). They should avoid making more hardware if they do not have to. I would rather see Sega make a new gamegear (even if i dont believe that will ever happen, considering what happened with the last few Sega consoles).

That was in talks, but I think they probably scrapped the idea since the 360 is making enough money. Plus it probably wouldn't sell very well, thus making them lose money in the end. Microsoft is a massive corporation, their main focus is money, if something threatens that cash-flow then you can bet your bottom dollar it won't ever see production.

I think the DS and the PSP have already really sucked about as much as possible out of the portable market. I don't see any reason MS would bother with this, they'd be going up against some stiff competition and that would require them to be really innovative (maybe combine a real portable gaming platform with a phone, and make it not suck like the n-gage).
