The microsoft brand adapter is your only practical choice, unless you can find a used original xbox adapter online at like ebay or amazon, your ONLY other option is a wireless bridge, which is like buying another router or access point

if you have a wireless laptop or computer nearby you could just plug your xbox into your computer/laptop. just go to network settings and bridge the connections on xp or vista

you have to turn the laptop into a wireless bridge. you can google for it, but iirc you can also right-click on the wireless connection in windows and tell it to bridge. besides buying the $100 adapter, you can also buy the $50 adapter for the ORIGINAL xbox - it works with the 360. or if you're a bit more tech-inclined, you can buy a $50-60 WRT54GL, and install Tomato or DD-WRT firmware on it, which lets the router turn into a bridge for 4 ethernet-connected devices at once.

Buy Microsoft's 360 wireless adaptor. It's almost $100.00, but that's what the thing is made for.
