Hey guy i need help. I really dont feel like paying 75$ for a wireless adapter my brother wants to sell me. I know its 100 in the store but i would rather spend that 75 on a game. My Xbox is to far away from the router/modem and my TV upstairs next to the router stinks. So i would like to play downstairs on the HDTV but still be able to connect. Is there any other way to get connect to xbox live other then these. I would just want something that alot cheaper and has a good connection (somethign that atleas wont kick me off.)

Buying my brothers adapter for 75$

Doing that thing with a wireless computer plugging n ethernet cable into in and then into you xbox and sharing the connection (Tried that and got disconnected every 10 minutes)

How much does it cost in the shops? (I'm in England, that's why I don't know the price you would pay.)

But I have a wireless connector as my router is in a spare bedroom, and it was well worth the money.

Not sure what you are looking for here. A cheaper wireless adapter is coming out but it's 69.99 (at gamestop.com) so with tax you are going to be paying about the same. Any way to run a 100 ft. ethernet cable from your router? I tried doing that but gave up and paid 100 for the Xbox wireless adapter. Actually works pretty good...

i used the ethernet cable that came with my ELite, so I am extremely happy.

my sympathies for you and everybody who has to get a wireless connection. MS has to seriously drop the accessory price.

I spent $60 on a Linksys Wireless-G Broadband router and flashed it with DD-WRT. It's as fast as wired and I can stream HD content from my PC to the 360 with no slowdown. Not only that but I can only have my PS2 hooked up at the same time and I can use it with future consoles.

Pelican has one at BestBuy for $69.99:

Original Xbox one which will still work with the 360 on Amazon $49.99:

Linksys adapter for 360/PS3/PS2 at Overstock for $54.99:

Anyway - you may even find lower prices on these if you search hard enough - I just wnated to show you all that there are some options other than the MS one. There is always Ebay and Craiglist for used ones as well.

Hope that helps.

Actually that is not true, if you own a macbook or macbook pro there is a way to use it as a router for your 360. I don't know the full details but if you own a macbook you should try googling it.

I use my og xbox wireless adapter but I'm pretty sure you need the og xbox to configure the thing to get it working in the first place. Just a heads up if you decide to go that route. You only need it breifly though so maybe you could borrow a friends xbox or something. I feel your pain though, 100 bucks is a rip

Not sure what the best option with your current setup is, but I was able to plan ahead. ****** makes a router that can also be setup as a wireless bridge. Router was only $30 to $35 each. I bought two. ($60 - $70) One is setup as my main router, upstairs, and the second is setup as a wireless bridge, and sits downstairs next to my 360. 360 connects to it with the supplied network cable. I have used it this way for 2 years, and have never had any problems. Have even had some game parties, and have had two other 360's connected to the downstairs router, since it does have four ports on it. Also, I stream pictures and audio from my PC to my 360 using the router setup. A lot more functionality, and saved money when the 360 adapter was $100.

There are definitely options to go wirelessly.
