My friend said he'd sell me his wireless headset when he gets his turtle beach x31's. I know it works because he uses it when he plays.

I hate my wired mic( It still works after over a year though :) ) This seems like a very good deal, just wondering if this mic will last?

Hello,

I bought a wireless headset, when my wired one began to turn my controller off, even when I bought a new one. The sound is good (a lot better then my PS3 wireless headset), and you can mute your voice by the press of a button.

It does ache a little once you take it of, but i think that just might be because of how I put it on.

I like the fact I can get up, and walk around withought carrying the controller :)

I like them. The sound quality is better and your own voice sounds better. It does pick up a tiny bit more background. Other than that it good.

Has anyone ever heard how easy these things break? I got one from Best Buy. It was kind of cold in my house. A week later, it doesn't turn on. I go and check the Troubleshooting for it and it says "If the headset is too hot or too cold, put it in a place where it can get room temperature. I put it in front of a heater and under my blanket and it still wouldn't turn on. I returned 2 days late and got $21.00. Yay.

I've also been through 3 of them and my current one is breaking. Wired aren't the best either though. I've been through 4 of those and my current is broken and needs replacing.

I think there's a huge difference. When I wear my wired mics no one else seems to be able to hear me, like the volume is always way down. With the wireless one no volume problems or anything. After an hour or so of wearing it, it starts to hurt a bit, that's about it as far as complaints. It's probably not worth the $60 for most, but if you're getting it for cheap, go for it.

Was just coming on here to post about the wireless headset. Overall I liked it and def prefer over wired. But I owned it for a year and treated it like gold and last night it wouldn't turn on. Worked fine Sat night but now it will won't turn on or take a charge. 60 bucks for something that lasted 12 months annoys me. Will probably look at turtles or trittion headsets now.

Is there any warranty on MS wireless headsets?

Last time I tried no. Best Buy gave me 3 months on the last one I bought though.

Do you mean the clip over the ear ones? If so I had one and didn't like it much.

I ended up buying a pair of Turtle Beach X3's. Much, Much better imo.

You should prob follow your friends lead and grab a pair of x31's yourself. Trying to listen to chat with one ear and listen to the game on speakers just does not work out well, especially if your counting on directional sound to keep you alive.

Good sound quality input & output, poor build quality. (one day it'll stop working no matter what you do) I've had a $10 Bluetooth headset last longer... And since I bought the Halo3 LE headset there was no replacing it.

i say depends on the version. When halo 3 skin wireless mics came out it was the new model and soon to follow the white mics also. They gave more of a charge and pick up voice better.

Anyways i love my wireless one and i had it since xmas 07 still going strong. If you hate wire then you know the other choice (wireless):!:

just like anything else rechargeable battery's (i think that's reason why everyone has problems with them and how people rechargeable battery packs breaks in few months. i play alot and have two battery packs for my controllers both 3 years old and going strong then mic is two.

but anyways with rechargeable batterys you need remember the first charge needs to be the longest charge about 2 times longer then what it takes to charge an item.

don't hook it up and recharge it when there's no way it needs be charge. In xbox case you can check the percent so don't charge it when it's on 4 bars it don't need it.

don't leave it chargeing for days

those just some tips with any rechargeable battery's you come along in the future don't matter if we talking xbox or not

there complete crap. bought one and it broke after a month, sent it to M$, they replaced it with a new one that broke again in a month. This time though M$ wouldn't replace it. bought a used wired one for $10 and its been working fine ever since.

I'd recommend it. I don't know how other people's mics are breaking? I had mine for nearly 2 years, only problem is that the mic cuts out for 5 seconds or less. It's only a minor problem and I got used to it.

This is my problem., i came on here to make a thread but figured just keep this one goin.

My problem is i've had my wireless headset since launch. I went and got one the first day they ever came out. But even since I got it several years ago it alwasy cuts in and out. Like every min or two it will cut in and out for a shrt sec. Although the sound is great on hearing people and they hear me. They do say they get static from me a lot.

Anyway so I'm thinking is this more do to I bought a first gen model? Or maybe just a bad one that has a messed up single strength or something/ Because I'm considering going out and getting another one. But only if the newer models don't have this issue?

Or does everyone have the cutting in and out issue with all the 360 wireless mics?

one reason could be because of the first gen models but sounds like yours getting old if yours losing connection every few mins thats bad. I got the halo 3 version (newest model) and it works great. Friends never say anything about static. The only thing they will say is my t.v is to loud but its not my mic fault when i think it about my t.v is loud lol. my mic dose cut out but it only happens once/twice an hour tops and takes 3 secs to connect back

You would be better off to get the turtle beach X1's. They cost about the same price as the wireless. Although you are getting this used, so for a fraction of the price it should be worth it until it inevitably breaks

If your trying to find something good on a budget, you should check out TB's recert page. They carry the same warranty as new products and you can get the X1 for only $39 or or the X3 for only $69. X4 is def the best value at only $129 I owned that headset last year before upgrading to the X41s. I loved it, and my lucky friend who I gave it too now loves it :)

I would go for it. I've been through 2 wireless headsets, the first one I got broke after 6 months and Microsoft sent me a replacement and the replacement has been going strong for almost 2 years now. It beats the 3 wired headsets that I've been through. :P

Nay. 1. Terrible noise cancellation. If you turn on the speakers too high, it will go right into the mic. 2. Terrible battery life. Try having it go out on you during an intense or fun MP match. 3. It's not worth it at all. 4. Price went up from $50 to $60... 5. I dont like them.

For the love of god don't buy it. It's nowhere close to being worth $30, much less $60. Get a Turtle Beach x1. They cost the exact same but manage to give you the sound quality of a surround system combined with a very clear mike. The only downside would be that it's corded ( very long cord ). But hey, they're pretty reliable and Turtle Beach offers replacement parts so that you don't really need a new one unless you break it in half.

Ok. Don't waste your money on your mates one then. Save up and get a set of TB's.
