This happened to mine and also my mates (something like 4 times to him), i think its like the mics RRoD! I dont think its fixable just take it back. I did and got a vision cam with the money.

If your wireless mic went completely powerless you'll have to sync it back up with your Xbox again. It happened to me a few weeks ago. Usually I'll recharge it when it starts beeping in my ear or if there's only one bar left in the battery gauge. But my mic went completely dead and I didn't use it for a coulple of weeks and after a recharge it wasn't being detected. I thought the battery life was completely gone, but all I had to do was sync it again. Press the sync button on your console and the sync button on the mic.

Is it turning on then turning off right away? That's what was happening to me. If you press the sync button on your console first, then power up your mic and press the mic's sync button it should work.

Try charging it in a different plug. It sounds like the battery is completely flat and the plug you were using wasn't working.

This recently happened to one of MY wireless mics too. It doesn't respond to ANY button presses, like the thing fried due to a power surge or something. It was beeping to let me know it needed to be charged, so i plugged it into the console with the charge cable, and the lights just didnt come on. I called micro$oft and they said there is only a 90 day warranty on these things, and since mine is older than that I'm out of luck. 1-800-4my-xbox's "expert" advice was to just go buy a new wireless mic. Which is the same as saying "hand me 50 bucks and bend over for servicing".

My wireless mic had some problems from the day i started using it. i synced it up after about half an hour of charging when it probably should have been on charge for the recommended amount of time , but i used it on line on cod waw and all was fine but because of the short charging time it started beeping at me so i put it back on charge. Then later as i used in party chat it cut out and disconnected after about 5 minutes and would not sync back to my p1 control, now whenever i use it again it will cut out in party and not sync, unless i leave it off for a while or turn my xbox on and then off. But even then when its working it will cut out , and so back to syncing problems. Anyone have any similar issues or help. thanks.
