Is the Xbox 360 wireless network adapter the only compatiable adapter? Its a 100.00 and I find that a little steep, though ill pay it if it's the only one. I can't connect any other way since my computer is another room. I already have the Linskys wireless router.

You can use any network/wifi adapter that connects to the Ethernet/USB ports. Yes the official xbox 360 one is pricey but it also is the best one, so in terms of quality then its still your best bet.

p.s. This is from experience, I use this to connect to my router downstairs and it hasnt given me any problems so far.

I have a wireless setup, and I use the original Xbox network adapter, and it works great. You can get it alot cheaper then the Xbox 360 one and works the same. You can find them on Ebay for like $50 bucks.

look into the logitech play link. it runs around 20 bucks on ebay, and connects your 360 with a wireless connection. it's basically just a net extender, but they work really well for online gaming with the 360. i've had no issues with mine at all. the only downfall is marketplace downloads are a little bit slow (actually, they're damn slow)... but if gaming is all you are worried about, there should be no lag issues at all.
