Hey guys, i get my 360 wednsday, and I bought a wireless adapter since my room is no where near the router. So i was wondering, for those of you who have it, does it work well? I have a ps3 and I get 100% signal, so should the 360 get 100% too? Thanks! Oh, if you wouldnt mind, I need some friends on there, so if anyone would like to give me your username thing(gamertag) then let me know! ill be playing call of duty 4 and halo a lot.

It depends on how far your console is. If it's on the same floor as your router then you should get either 3 or 4 bars (out of 4). However if it's on a different floor it's not that great, in my experience at least. But then again my xbox was two floors above, sometimes I would get 3, other times zip. So I've settled for a big assed long cable, a lot more reliable.

But if your PS3 has 100% then I would imagine the xbox adapter would have no problems achieving near enough the same reception.

I have one, but both my PS3 and Xbox 360 aren't getting an excellent signal. It still runs great though.

My router is on the middle floor at the back room of the house. The network adaptor works perfect when I move the 360 to the basement or my own room. I bought it on sale so it was an even better deal!

hey everyone i was wondering i dont have a wirless network adaptor yet but, the other day i was on my psp trying to find a signal to go on the internet and just at my window i can get a good internet connection but the signal strength sits around 50 to 65 out of 100. So if i got a wirless network adaptor with a usb extention cord and put it at my window i would get a good signal, and the psp adaptor can only go as far as maybe 1 floor would the wirless network adaptor have a stronger signal like maybe reach 3 or 2 floors?

I have a three-bedroom house. The router is plugged into a PC on the first floor at the back of the house. My Xbox is in our living room - ground floor - and I use a wireless adapter and so far (since Christmas) no problems.

I would assume it has less to do about physical distance and more what is actually between the router and wireless bridge - so if you have a lot of walls, etc., the signal could drop significantly. However, if you PS3 is okay, I cannot see why you should have a problem with the Xbox.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907602?sd=xbox link for help with it check this part as well The following guidelines should help you choose a better location for the console or the wireless access point: Imagine a straight line between the Xbox 360 console and the access point. Position the console and the access point or the router so that as few obstructions as possible exist along the straight line between them. Position the network devices so that no more than two walls or two floors are between the wireless adapter and the wireless access point. best way to troubleshoot it, setup next to the router on wireless so u know its setup fine. then move it to the room of ur choice if its no signal then u know its setup right. then u got 3 choices buy a access point to spread the wireless signal out around the house so it spreads to part of the house ur xbox is in move ur xbox closer move ur router to another place in the house closer u cant compare the strength of signal to most internal wireless cards as they usually have a much better signal range then u can get on usb. so even if u have a laptop or another device in the same room or further away then it dont mean a usb device can get the same range. just a limitation of usb2 to a card on a internal bus on the motherboard. like a pci or built in one
