It doesn't matter ow many KB/s your wireless Router is sending out you can still suffer from lag! Its depends on the bandwith, just remember it can just take one person with a rubbish connection to make you and others lagggggg ggggg gg gg gdiamond2d
bandwidth is the speed of your internet connection. i have four wireless devices including my xbox 360 but i don't suffer from lag online. it just depends on your setup and bandwidth
That sucks, what is bandwith?
I know my router gives no lag while plugged in, but I'm not sure about wirless.Panzeram

[QUOTE="Aaron89"]You could always just bridge the connection from your Xbox 360 to your laptop, and save the $100. Kaspanovaalways an option, but you have to turn your PC / Laptop on every, and i mean EVERY time you want to go on Xbox LIVE.
If you have your laptop/PC in "Sleep Mode," it shouldn't take more than 10 seconds. But, I use a wired connection anyway -- I love that consistency/reliability.
GAHH!
It can't get the IP:x
What should I do to get the IP on my 360?Panzeram
Just follow these steps, assuming you're using Windows XP. And the IP of the Xbox 360 (which is dynamic by default) is located in the "Network Settings" > "Edit Settings" area in the System blade.
EDIT: Wait, I answered how to get the IP of the Xbox 360. Haven't actually done this before, so I'm not sure what's needed exactly. Not sure what you're asking...

No XP for me, I've got Vista.
But I just played UT3 on my laptop online and it ran smoothly with all settings maxed out.
So therefore I'm assuming that my 360 would do even better.
Would I get faster speeds with the Wireless Adapter or through a bridge with my laptop?Panzeram
First, running a PC game on your laptop has little to do with the Xbox 360. Second, you'll likely get slightly lower speeds as the information is outputted from your 360, inputted from your laptop's NIC, then outputted again wirelessly to your wireless router. It's a long process, and one which may have slight affect on performance (nothing major, usually).
Did bridging the connections work? Again, I've never done this, but it's definitely a feature of all the recent Windows OS'. Maybe this* could help you out.
*Try to Google more tutorials/guides if you have trouble.
Seriously just drop the $100 OR do what i do ethernet through electric wires go to your local radio shack or buy form amazon it takes up a who socket and you cannot have a extender with it but it makes it so you can plug a ethernet wire in your electric socket and it will double your speed from your room and your office or whatever i love it i got 2 for $20 i think it's a bargain i also don't need to worry about lag sicne it's fully wired check it out.DivinitySkate

He's talking about one of these, I believe. You need at least 2 in order for it to work, and they can be found for bargian prices (not a popular network solution) if you look around. Honestly, it seems like you should just forget all the hassle, and buy the $100 adapter, which I've seen for $70 CAD at various places.

This is what I got. If I am going to spend 100 dollars I would rather spend it on something that I can use on more things than the 360. I have one plugged up near and ethernet wired to the router and the other is plugged up by and ethernet wired to the 360. It runs throught the electricity and it works like it wired. I have had no lag or issues downloading. Its not complicated and it took me less than 5 minutes to hook up and connect. Has anyone else used this?

EDIT: And also I used it for the PS3 and my dish network DVR box.
what type of encryption did u set for your wireless router?
the xbox 360 wireless adapter won't work with WPA2, only WPA or WEP
