I don't seem to have a problem using wifi. Playing live seems to be the same, but downloading is a little slower.

i use a wired connection because i belive its better. you get 100% of the connection. i would buy an longer ethernet cbale. i did and it only cost me £8 which works out to about $10 i think.

WiFi adds some processing overhead compared to ethernet, but not much. I've read that good gameplay latency is under 110 or so. I use the WiFi adapter and WPA encryption and my latency is in the 90s. I have no lag problems what so ever.

I have an earlier version of the same router.  My suggestion is to do what I did.  I have a two-story home.  My Internet connection is upstairs in an office, but my 360 is downstairs in the living room.  My router is upstairs next to the modem.  Instead of buying the $100 Microsoft wireless adapter for the 360, I spent another $40 for the exact same ****** router.  I found a setup online to create a wireless bridge between the two routers.  So, the second router is now downstairs, close to the 360, and I connected the 360 to the second router with the supplied network cable.  Works perfectly.  Also, now if you want to have a xbox party, there are 3 ports left open on the second router to connect to. (not to mention any open ports on the first router, although in a different location).  Much cheaper and more versatile solution than the 360 wireless adapter.
