Wireless Router vs. set up through my pc?

My room doesn't have a plug in the wall for the cable, so my choices are to set it up through my pc or by the router. Thoughts?

I don't use the xbox for netflix or any of that stuff - just gaming.

I use my laptop and it runs fine but I have pretty fast internet so everything connected to it goes fast. I haven't had any issues in games wih my current setup and I honestly just don't want to pay an extra hundred dollars to change that.

Have you experienced lag issues with your pc setup? On the other hand, has anyone experienced lag issues with the router?
