By the time the halo movie comes out, there will have all ready been a winner in the war.

I'd like to see the movie be "UN"-put-on-hold at this point, then maybe we can talk about something. But regardless, I don't think any one movie could have that big of an impact. The only exception to that may be something like the Star Wars movies or something, or Disney movies or something like that. Something so big that millions of fans will mindlessly follow them everywhere.

Man it would be ironic if HD-DVD had lost by that time and it had to be on Blu-Ray

and the rest of us know thats just a rumor and there is still a good possibility of their being "erotic revealing movies" on blu-ray.  Sony has said so and the porn industry has as well.

Yes they are, read the article you read again, it has updates on it stating that porn will be on Blu-Ray. The first coming out soon, or already. Sony screwed themselves by doing that with the Beta-max, they won't likely forget that

no one movie will decide the war, it'll be the collection of movies for either format.

I agree. The Halo movie won't come out for at least 2-3 years, if ever. The format war will be over by then.

The porn industry is just like a barometer. The barometer indicates weather conditions but doesn't make it rain. The porn industry is simply indicating that HD-DVD is much easier on their bottom line, due to lower royalty and manufacturing costs. But if the big studios subsidize Blu Ray, than that's going to be the standard...

MSoft isn't tied to HD-DVD either, and  they could just as easily get Phillips or someone to make a BR add-on for the 360. They have even acknowledged that's a possibility. See, it's not just Sony behind Blu Ray, it's a ton of other companies who are part of the backing consortium, so it wouldn't even be as much a slap in the face as, say, Sony having to put Vista on it's Vaio PC's.

Either way, flash memory will bury both formats regardless of which one has more success

This may not be the case... internet has pretty much taken over the porn industry... I wouldn't count on that this time

even if it wasn't on hold it's hard to remove the violence on that game if it was a movie because come on if we are going to watch chief he should be at least brutal kicking some sh!t  which in turn will make the game Rated R but If what I heard is true they're making it less violent which isn't a good thing if you're watching a great game turned disastrous

And the barometer says that is gonna be a raining day for HD-DVD. After the article of a porn star staring in saint row I googled the actress (tera patrick I think), and I found her home page, and in the bottom of it it announced her first blu-ray movie.

BTW isn't toshiba cut the suport for HD-DVD??
