they didn't kill her for the xbox, they killed her because she caught them. they only option for them was to kill her and hope to get away with it. the xbox was the motivation for the robbery, but not the murder.
what a horrific death, i hope those kids go to jail for life. a purely senseless, remorseless act against an innocent person. people like that deserve to be in prison for life, or be executed. i see no reason to try to "rehabilitate" them, talk about their feelings, and blame society for creating their desire to want an xbox.
another sad thing is that those kids are black. it reflects poorly on the black community as a whole, even though other blacks had absolutely nothing to do with those kids or their crime. now, most of america will just chalk this up to violent, black youth and say "i told ya so." i used to live and work in an area that had large amounts of poor, black youths and i can tell you that while part of that stereotype is true, it isn't the norm. it's just as prevelant in poor white communities and poor hispanic communities. inevitably, a lot of honest, smart, young black kids will be targets of discrimination and stereotypes because of this incident.
